Box 942896 Sacramento, California 94296-0001 (916) 653-0524 FAX: (916) 653-4458 NOTICE OF HEARING ON OCTOBER 26, 2001 CALIFORNIA STATE PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the State Park and Recreation Commission, pursuant to authority contained in Sections 539, 5002.3, 5019.50, 5080.03, 5080.20, et al of the Public Resources Code, Section 11370 et seq. of the Government Code and pursuant to law, will meet on Friday October 26, 2001 at 9:30 a.m. in the Collonade Room of the Eureka Inn, 518 7th Street, Eureka, California 95501. The meeting facility is wheelchair accessible. Agenda items will include action on the Humboldt Redwoods State Park General Plan, as well as the classification and naming of approximately 10,450 acres within Humboldt Redwoods State Park as a State Wilderness, the classification and naming of approximately 3,520 acres within Humboldt Redwoods State Park as a Natural Preserve, and the classification and naming of two detached groves of Humboldt Redwoods State Park (approximately 578 acres) as a State Reserve. Also on the agenda will be action on the classification and naming of the Lake Earl Project, off-premise alcohol sales at the City Hotel in Columbia State Historic Park, and hard liquor alcohol sales at Pismo State Beach Golf Course. Copies of the Humboldt Redwoods State Park General Plan and the Lake Earl Project Resource Summary will be available for review at the following Department of Parks and Recreation offices: North Coast Redwoods District Office, 3431 Fort Avenue, Eureka; Humboldt Redwoods State Park Headquarters, Avenue of the Giants, two miles south of the Weott off-ramp from Highway 101; Piercy Sector Office at Richardson Grove State Park; Redwood National and State Park Headquarters, 1111 Second Street, Crescent City; and at the Department’s Headquarters at 1416 9th Street, Sacramento. The plan is also available for review at the following public library locations: 1313 3rd Street, Eureka; 500 7th Street, Arcata; 14th & N Streets, Fortuna; Main Street, Ferndale; 715 Wildwood Avenue, Rio Dell; 715 Cedar Street, Garberville. NOTICE IS GIVEN that any person may file a statement regarding hearing items by writing to the undersigned or by presenting oral or written statements at the hearing at 10:00 a.m. or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard.
