Further results from the elections for female representatives to attend the House of Bishops have been announced. At its meeting of 7 February 2013 the House of Bishops decided that eight senior women clergy, elected regionally, will participate in all meetings of the House until such time as there are six female Bishops who will sit as of right. The latest four elected members are: • East Midlands region - Ven Christine Wilson, Archdeacon of Chesterfield • West Midlands region - Revd Preb. Dr Jane Tillier, Preb of Lichfield Cathedral • East Anglia region - Ven Annette Cooper, Archdeacon of Colchester • South and Central region - Ven Joanne Grenfell, Archdeacon of Portsdown This follows a previous announcement of the first three female representatives on the 26th September. • South West region - Ven Nicola Sullivan, Archdeacon of Wells • North East region - Very Revd Vivienne Faull, Dean of York • South East region - Ven Rachel Treweek, Archdeacon of Hackney The representatives will take up their roles on 1st December. Notes The result for the election in the North West region is expected to be announced before the end of October. The Most Reverend and Right Hon the Lord Archbishop of Canterbury & The Most Reverend and Right Hon the Lord Archbishop of York July, 2008 Most Reverend Fathers in God, We write as bishops, priests and deacons of the Provinces of Canterbury and York, who have sought, by God’s grace, in our various ministries, to celebrate the Sacraments and preach the Word faithfully; to form, nurture and catechise new Christians; to pastor the people of God entrusted to our care; and, through the work of our dioceses, parishes and institutions, to build up the Kingdom and to further God’s mission to the world in this land. Our theological convictions, grounded in obedience to Scripture and Tradition, and attentive to the need to discern the mind of the whole Church Catholic in matters touching on Faith and Order, lead us to doubt the sacramental ministry of those women ordained to the priesthood by the Church of England since 1994. Having said that, we have engaged with the life of the Church of England in a myriad of ways, nationally and locally, and have made sincere efforts to work courteously and carefully with those with whom we disagree. In the midst of this disagreement over Holy Order, we have, we believe, borne particular witness to the cause of Christian unity, and to the imperative of Our Lord’s command that ‘all may be one.’ We include those who have given many years service to the Church in the ordained ministry, and others who are very newly ordained. We believe that we demonstrate the vitality of the tradition which we represent and which has formed us in our discipleship and ministry – a tradition which, we believe, constitutes an essential and invaluable part of the life and character of the Church of England, without which it would be deeply impoverished.

The House of Bishops of the Church of England Has Today Welcomed Eight Women As Participant Observers to Its Meetings
The House of Bishops of the Church of England has today welcomed eight women as participant observers to its meetings. The welcome follows the election of the eight senior women clergy from regions across the country. In February of this year the House decided that until such time as there are six female members of the House, following the admission of women to the episcopate, a number of senior women clergy should be given the right to attend and speak at meetings of the House as participant observers. The necessary change to the House's Standing Orders was made in May. Elections for the eight senior women clergy were held in autumn of this year and the following were elected: • East Midlands - Ven Christine Wilson, Archdeacon of Chesterfield • West Midlands - Revd Preb. Working Groups The Task Group shall have the power to establish focussed working groups to engage with different aspects of its agenda. Frequency of meetings and duration The Task Group shall meet between four and six times per year in the first two years and thereafter be subject to annual review.

The Bishop of London has made a number of Bishop’s Mission Order’s, (BMO) most of which are covering projects that were existing church plants of one kind or another. Some are other forms of mission initiative (MI). 2. A BMO is made for a 5 year term. There is provision for a second term and thereafter for a BMO to be made without specified time so that it continues without having to be re-made. BMO’s may be wound up after a period of operation. 3. The National Church Institutions (NCI) pro forma BMO has a section relating to Synodical representation, which has been used in the BMO documents for most London cases. 4. One London BMO case does not have Synodical representation provision (presumably the project did not envisage using it).
