Overall she leads UH with 12.5 points and 9.8 rebounds per game. She has been the top rebounder in each of UH’s four games and against UT Martin she logged her 30th career double-double with 18 points and 10 boards. Martin also leads UH with seven steals and is second on the squad with seven assists to round out her stat line. Hawai’i has started four newcomers who have made a great impact on the team early in the season. The only starting returnee in the line-up has been Martin. A pair of freshman—Destiny King and Ashleigh Karaitiana—have made the biggest contributions thus far on the stats sheet. King is currently second on the team averaging 9.0 points per game. Preseason Women’s Basketball Coaches All-BWC Teams Moore, from Nagoya, Japan, spent the last two seasons at Diablo Valley College (Pleasant Hill, Calif.). At Dia- Kayla Griffi n (Cal Poly, Guard, Senior) blo, she averaged 20 points and 10 rebounds per game in both years she was there. DeAngelis comes to Hawai‘i after Ashlee Guay (Cal State Northridge, Guard, Sophomore) earning three letters at Loyola Marymount (Los Angeles, Calif.). She earned a medical redshirt her first season with Kamilah Martin (Hawai’i, Forward, Junior) the Lions, played the next three, and graduated last year. Currently she is in graduate school at UH in educational administration. Last season as a junior, she was third on the team averaging 5.8 points, 1.3 assists and 1.1 rebounds Tre’ Shonti Nottingham (UC Riverside, Guard, Senior) per game while shooting 31% from beyond the three-point arch and 77% from the free-throw line. In her career, Kendall Rodriguez (Pacifi c, Forward, Senior) she appeared in 72 games and averaged 11.5 minutes per game with 66 career 3-pointers made; also made 45-of-55 Janae Sharpe (Cal State Northridge, Guard, Soph) free throws for a .818 percentage and scored a career total of 299 points with 62 assists and 18 steals in her three seasons at LMU. Big West Conference Players of the Week Wimbley Playing Key Minutes at the Point Wk1 Ashlee Guay, CSUN, Soph. Freshman point guard Marissa Wimbley has played well coming off the bench. She has recorded 59 minutes on the Wk2 Tre’Shonti Nottingham, UCR, Sr. court--with a personal-high of 20 minutes against Stanford. Wimbley, an Elk Groove, Calif. native, has been steady Wk3 and has committed just five turnovers in four games. She is averaging 1.5 points and 2.3 rebounds per game, with a career-high four boards against Stanford. Wk4 Wimbley is a 2012 graduate of Pleasant Grove High School, she earned four varsity letters in basketball and Wk5 was team captain her last three seasons. As a senior, she helped lead the Eagles to a 9-1 conference record and an Wk6 overall mark of 22-10 averaging 14.8 points, 3.0 assists, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.3 steals per game en route to capturing Wk7 the school’s second conference title in three seasons. Wimbley was named Pleasant Grove’s Female Athlete of the Wk8 Year; conference player of the year; Sacramento Area All-Metro first team; Optimist All-Star South first team; and Wk9 was selected to the CA1-Hi Sports All-State DI team. Wk10 Bello and Kailiawa Key Offense as Reserves Wk11 Junior Kanisha Bello and junior transfer Pua Kailiawa have provided some offensive lift from off the bench early in Wk12 the season. Bello posted 11 points--including two buckets late in the game against UT Martin to help earn UH’s Wk13 first win of the season. She has seen action oin all four games, averaging 9.8 minutes a game with 3.3 points per Wk14 outing. In the same game against the Skyhawks, Kailiawa was 6-of-9 from the floor for 12 points and four rebounds. Wk15 She is averaging 5.3 points and 1.8 boards a game. Bello looks to be an offensive spark for the ‘Bows this season as a two-guard. Last year, she appeared in 30 Wk16 games with 16 starts. Her best game came against Nevada (Feb. 25) when she tallied a season high 19 points— Wk17 including a career-high three 3-point shots made—to help lead UH to a win on Senior Night . She led UH with a Wk18 .821 free-throw percentage while averaging 6.7 points and 24.0 minutes per game. Kailiawa, a native of Pahala, Hawai`i, was a standout at Umpqua Community College (Roseburg, Ore.) where she earned all-league defensive honors after averaging 7.93 points and 9.1 boards a game. She also averaged 2.6 as- sists and 3.3 blocks per game. Kailiawa set a new school record with 100 blocked shots as a sophomore. Ricketts Joins Adolpho as Two-Sport Stars Senior center Stephanie Ricketts joins sophomore center Kalei Adolpho as the second two-sport athlete on the bas- ketball team. Ricketts joined the Rainbow Wahine Basketball team on Oct. 24 after a storied softball career at UH. She is averaging 17.3 minutes per game and is doing the little things that do not show up in the box score. Ricketts has been a quick study and has been a solid presence in the paint for the ‘Bows on defense. She is the first player to ever play both softball and basketball for Hawai‘i. On the diamond last year, Ricketts became UH’s all-time winningest pitcher as a senior and holds the Rainbow Wahine career records with 102 wins, 33 shut outs, 116 complete games, 164 appearances, 938.1 innings pitched and 818 strike outs. She earned National Fastpitch Coaches Association, Easton and Lowe’s Senior CLASS All-America honors last year and is a three-time Western Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year; 2009 WAC Freshman of the Year; four-time all-WAC player, four- time WAC all-academic player; and two-time NFCA scholar-athlete. Ricketts graduated last spring with a degree in psychology and is currently a student in UH’s master’s nursing program and has one year to play another sport. Ricketts earned three varsity letters in basketball at perennial prep power Archbishop Mitty High School in San Jose, Calif. before joining the UH softball team as a freshman. She helped the Monarchs win back-to-back state titles her last two seasons. Adolpho is currently a middle hitter on the Rainbow Wahine volleyball team. Last season, Adolpho appeared
