    TELEMUNDO 47 BECOMES FIRST LOCAL TELEVISION STATION TO RESUME OVER- THE-AIR TRANSMISSIONS FROM ONE WORLD TRADE CENTER NEW YORK, NY – June 23, 2017 – With the push of a button, Telemundo 47 / WNJU became the first Tri-State television station to officially resume over-the-air transmissions from One World Trade Center. The station announced this morning, during a special ceremony in Lower Manhattan, that its signal will be powered by the most powerful, solid-state broadcast transmitter ever constructed. “This is a significant achievement. Telemundo 47’s over-the-air broadcast signal has become the very first to resume transmission from One World Trade Center. We are particularly proud that Telemundo 47 - a Spanish language television station – was the first television station in the market to do so,” said Cristina Schwarz, Telemundo 47 President and General Manager. “This pioneering moment became possible through the leadership of the best engineering and technology team in television, as well as through a great partnership with The Durst Organization.” Only twelve linear feet in size, Telemundo 47’s over-the-air transmitter is powered by 66 kilowatts of cutting-edge technology. This power will provide Telemundo 47 with the largest coverage area of any television station in the New York market. Later this year, the transmitter will also power the over-the-air signal from sister station NBC 4 New York / WNBC, which is preparing to relocate its transmission facilities to One World Trade Center. Telemundo 47 will officially cease over-the-air transmissions from the Empire State Building effective June 30. “We are proud that Telemundo 47 will be the first station to broadcast from One World Trade Center,” said Jonathan (Jody) Durst, President of The Durst Organization.

Dr. Pissarro will hold the newly created position of Bershad Professor of Hunter Heroes 4 Art History and Director of the Hunter College Galleries. His appointment in Iraq was made possible thanks to an extraordinary gift to the Department of Art from Susan V. Bershad, MD (’75) and David J. Bershad. Remembering 4 At Hunter, in addition to his role as a professor in the Art History Erwin Fleissner and Studio Art departments, Pissarro will develop the exhibition and curatorial programs of the Hunter Galleries. The Emmy® Award honors excellence in all fields of television production. KGO ABC 7 News Anchor, Cheryl Jennings, was presented the Governors’ Award, the highest honor a regional chapter can bestow. This is a lifetime achievement award for service to the community and television industry. Three station awards were presented. Overall Excellence went to KGO ABC 7. KGO ABC 7 also received the Community Service Award for “End Hunger Now.” News Excellence was awarded to KPIX CBS 5, “CBS 5 Eyewitness News.” The recipients of the coveted Evening Newscast Emmy® Awards went to: Large Markets: “ABC 7 News at 6:00,” KGO ABC 7, and “Noticias Univision 14 Solo A las Once,” KDTV Univision 14, San Francisco; Medium Markets: “Action News at Six,” KFSN ABC 30, and “Noticias 21 Evening Newscast,” KFTV Univision 21, Fresno; Smaller Markets: “KSBW Action News 8,” KSBW 8, Salinas. The most honored individuals were Anna Werner, Reporter, KPIX CBS 5, San Francisco and Christian Anguiano, Photographer/Editor, KUVS Univision 21, Sacramento with four statuettes each.
