He is internationally renowned for his song 'Caledonia', music for 'Last of the Mohicans' and inspired performances. His songs have been covered by Paolo Nutini, Amy MacDonald, Ronan Keating, Mary Black, Frankie Miller, , Kathy Mattea and many other top performers. He has received two prestigious Tartan Clef Awards, a place in the Scottish Music Hall of Fame, a Lifetime Achievement Award from BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards and an OBE!

The Wilson Family (Saturday 7th July 2018) The Wilson Family were very honoured to be the latest recipients to have been awarded the EFDSS Gold Badge Award in October 2017. The glorious, powerful, vocal harmony of The Wilson Family of Billingham, Teesside has rung out in folk clubs and festivals continuously for the last 40+ years. The Brothers sing traditional and traditionally-orientated songs, with deep understanding, joy and good humour. It will be good to have them back in Cleckheaton

Granny’s Attic (Sat 7th July 2018)

Cohen Braithwaite-Kilcoyne (Melodeon, Concertina, Vocals), George Sansome (Guitar, Vocals) and Lewis Wood (Fiddle, Vocals) – are a folk trio who play the tradition with verve, energy and their own inimitable style. These three young men are all exceptional musicians and fine singers of traditional songs and tunes from the British Isles alongside self-penned material. Formed in 2009, they have since played at clubs and festivals up and down the country, and have been heralded for their lively performances and maturity beyond their years in their delivery and selection of traditional songs.

MrsAckroyd (Friday 6th July 2018) “Despite the absence of Les Barker his strange imagination still soars to musical heights through the stunning voices of Alison Younger and Hilary Spencer and the keyboard wizardry of Chris Harvey. Alison, Hilary and Chris musically recreate the weird and wonderful world of the internationally acclaimed poet, philosopher, photographer and fruitcake and continue to perform the marvellous nonsense that is MRSACKROYD. A remarkable trio of musicians that will delight and entertain you. Funny, witty, thoughtful, emotional - but always brilliant!” Cleckheaton Folk Festival SUNDAY ALL STARS (Town Hall, Sunday 8th July 2018)

Moore, Moss & Rutter are a trio of young musicians from around England. They play mainly traditional English, contemporary and self composed tunes, but obtain influence from numerous styles and traditions. Tom Moore (Norfolk) plays fiddle, Archie Churchill-Moss (Somerset) plays melodeon and Jack Rutter (Yorkshire) plays guitar and sings. BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award Semi-Finals in 2011, which they went on to win overall.

The Rheingans Sisters Winners of the 2016 BBC Radio 2 Folk Award for ‘Best Original Track’, The Rheingans Sisters make bold, playful, innovative that is anchored in traditions without ever being bound by them. Audiences across the world have been captivated by their performances, each one an authentic invitation to participate in an intuitive musical conversation between two musicians at the height of their powers.

Anthony John Clarke – Not only has he written four of the most popular songs on the folk scene – ‘The Only Life Gloria Knows’, ‘The Broken Years’, ‘Walking On Sunday’ and the immortal ‘Tuesday Night is Always Karaoke’, but he remains in essence the reason that folk clubs and festivals continue to thrive! He is hilarious, serious, compassionate, irreverent, brave, challenging, and a proper guitarist with an instantly recognisable voice who, despite numerous attempts by Darth Vader to lure him to the dark side, remains one of the best and most engaging performers in the country. A world travelled troubadour, the man is a lyrical feast with just a dash of Viking!

Katriona Gilmore & Jamie Roberts—Contemporary folk/acoustic duo Gilmore & Roberts combine award-winning songwriting with astounding musicianship and their trademark harmonies to create a powerful wall of sound. Three times nominees for BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, Katriona Gilmore (fiddle, mandolin) and Jamie Roberts (guitar) met while studying at Leeds

Other festival favourites who will be appearing over the weekend include:
