Jerry is a professional planning and design consultant with multiple registrations and over 45 years of experience as a practicing architect, landscape architect, environmental advocate and teacher. He has been the founder and principal of two major profes- sional offices and since 1981 has played a primary role in many important projects throughout Oregon.

Jerry’s most recent projects include a home and garden on College Hill; the remodeling and site revisions for the Oregon Youth Authority Women’s Correctional Facility in Albany; a proposal for the City of Eugene’s Downtown Riverfront; a 50 acre Riverfront Plan for Glenwood, Oregon; siting studies for both Triad and Peace Health hospitals in Glenwood; a plan for the extension of Old Town Bandon, Oregon into its 25 acre Old Woolen Mill site; a Downtown Development Plan for Halsey, Oregon; and a Riverfront Open Space Plan for Canby, Oregon. Other projects in the Eugene-Springfield metropolitan area include: A Downtown Plan for Springfield; The Springfield Centennial Fountain; The Redesign of Springfield’s Main St.; North Bank, South Bank and Ferry St. Corridor studies as lead land use and urban design consultant (and CAC facilitator) for the City of Eugene; the site planning and landscape architecture for the south campus expansion of the U of O’s Knight Library; including Library Gate and Court on Kincaid St.

Jerry is the author of numerous articles on design theory, and writes a regular column, Design Matters, on local planning and design issues for the Eugene Weekly. He is a past President of the City Club of Eugene. As Chair of the Emerald Waterways Cit- izens Committee Inc., he has been a committed community advocate for open space, waterway, wetland, and Millrace enhance- ment in our metropolitan region. He taught landscape architecture and architecture in the School of Architecture and Allied Arts at the University of Oregon from 1970-2005.
