A 1983 graduate of Scranton Preparatory School, Peggy earned a bachelors degree in Communications from The University of Scranton in 1988. She taught at Red Cloud Indian School, a Jesuit high school on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in Pine Ridge, South Dakota, and as an adjunct professor at Lackawanna College and The University of Scranton. As a college instructor, she taught various subjects including: marketing, and advertising, computer science, logic, English and math. She also served as a corporate trainer with clients that included AT&T in Scranton.

Peggy loved God, nature and others completely and with the innocence of a child, inspiring that love in others. She found wonder in God’s creation from the simple perfection of blooming lilacs to the powerful brilliance of lightning. She found comfort and inspiration in scripture, in poetry and in music, taking delight in sharing her insights with others.

When she invested herself in a job or a cause, she did so with contagious zeal. She would quickly get to know something or someone down to the core, leaving you to watch and wonder at her intelligence and adaptability. Peggy had the uncanny capacity to be at home in many places. She was personally and spiritually moved by her experience among the Oglala Sioux at the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation – a place she considered home.

Her life was marked by great devotion to serving others, to promoting justice and to speaking out for the oppressed and marginalized. She was a communicator and a teacher, masterful in words spoken and written.

Anyone who experienced Peggy’s personality, wit, fervor and friendship would never forget her.
