This has been a very interesting off season in preparing for a season that has so much uncertainty. Will we be allowed to have people in the lodges? Will that affect programs and start times? Can we have people from different bubbles mixing for group lessons? Will there still be bubbles? How many people will we have for programs? Can we teach kids under the age of 7 due to chairlift procedures and physical distancing? What is the staff situation going to look like? All these items and more have been considered. With that in mind we are also cognizant that we may have to pivot at any moment and make adjustments to what we are offering… So what are we offering? Well, if we start from “normal” and work our way to the “new normal” and then onto whatever is in store for us, you get the idea that creating a concrete plan at this time is a challenge. In this brochure you will see the list of programs being offered and a flow chart that shows the typical way to move through the programs. First up you will notice the brochure is different and that is so we can make changes as needed. Any and all changes that come our way due to government policies or Club initiatives amid this Covid-19 pandemic will be reflected on the website. This will include any changes to pricing, program times, programs and use of facilities etc. We will also keep you up to date via the E-carver, emails and website for general information. You will notice that we have created three lunch periods. 11:00 – 11:45am, 12:00 – 12:45pm and 1:00 – 1:45pm. Our goal was to create enough slots for everyone to get a lunch with their family and for us to be able to serve the entire membership. It is very important that you register early to get your desired time slot for lunch. Some programs may not be offered in all time slots but there should be enough variety to enable families to sit together during one lunch period. In order to register you need to have your annual dues paid or be part of the payment plan. Registration will begin on October 15, if everything goes according to plan and once we get to November 15 regular prices take effect. On December 16 non-program participants will be able to register for their desired lunch spot. We have created a schedule that will allow for all Members to have a spot in one of the three lunch periods. We are working our way through new protocols with regards to Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) for staff and Members, time of use of the lodges, cafeteria, locker rooms and parking lots etc. so that we can offer our Members and staff the safest environment possible. Things can change in a heartbeat as we have witnessed over the last few months and so we will be set up to be able to adjust as needed with well thought out plans and implementation strategies should we not be able to operate in our new normal way. Due to COVID-19 we will not be operating the Ski Swap this fall. We have created a new private Facebook marketplace for Caledon Members to list any items they wish to sell. “Caledon 2020-2021 Ski Swap” is now activated and ready for you to join! www.facebook.com/groups/caledon20202021skiswap Thank you for your understanding and continued support as we strive to make Caledon the leader in Recreational and Competitive programming in Ontario. 2 REGISTRATION INFORMATION Member registration is OPENING on OCTOBER 15 Register online - Login into your Member Account. Early Bird Pricing – Register before November 15th to get Early Bird Pricing. Prices increase on December 15 and there will be additional charges after January 1. Emergency Contact Information – When registering online, please ensure your phone numbers are current. We require the cell number of the guardian(s) who will be at the hill most frequently with your children. Remember to have your phone switched on and check frequently, should we need to contact you. Friend Requests - Please note that we will do our best to have your children grouped with their friends. You can add this request in the “notes” section when registering online. Please note that grouping is done based on the participants ability, this important step will help ensure that your children will improve and have fun at the same time! Skill/Ability Level - Students are evaluated the first day of class and may move from one level to another to facilitate a better learning environment in order to develop their skills. Please complete the ability level to the best of your knowledge as this will help us with the initial grouping. Payment & Registration - In order to register for programs your ANNUAL DUES must be paid in full or part of the payment plan and after Membership payment is received we will require ONE WEEK to process your program registration. Program payment is due at the time of registration. Students will not be added to the class list until payment is received and spots cannot be held for a student. Missed Classes - If a class is cancelled a make-up class will be scheduled when possible. If your child is absent for a class there is no make-up class. Due to the large number of children enrolled and in order to ensure our students remain within a safe student/teacher ratio, we cannot accommodate movement from one day to another or switching afternoon and morning class times.
