Login to the members’ section of the Alpine website to register online. Register early – November 15 is the final day for early bird registration. Regular program prices will apply between November 15 and December 15. A late fee will be applied on registrations received after December 15. Helmets are mandatory for all participants in junior programs. TIME OPTIONS In order to accommodate the busy lunch period we have structured certain programs with time options A and B. OPTION A Sat: 9:00-11:00 AM & 12:00-2:00 PM • Sun: 9:00-11:00 AM • Lunch: 11:00 AM-12:00 PM OPTION B Sat: 10:00 AM-12:00 PM & 1:00-3:00 PM • Sun: 10:00 AM-12:00 PM • Lunch: 12:00-1:00 PM Not all programs have sufficient registrations to offer two time schedules. Please make sure you choose the schedule for the junior programs that best works with your family’s other program requirements. Junior league racing programs all have set lunch hours. Please refer to the program description for details. Most adult programs have a two-hour break to accommodate both lunch options. REGISTRATION POLICY We recommend that you review the programs being offered. Program numbers continue to grow each year so we remind you to sign up early to avoid disappointment. Early registration Oct. 1-Nov. 15 Discounted prices in effect Regular registration Nov. 15-Dec. 15 Regular prices in effect Late Registration After Dec. 15 Late fee applies Registrations will be processed based on availability 3 Important: - Alpine reserves the right to cancel programs with insufficient registration. - All registrations are processed on a first-come-first-served basis. - To maintain a safe environment in all programs, a waiting list will be implemented once a program is full. - Enrolment is not guaranteed unless the Club receives registrations prior to November 15. - Registrations must be received by Alpine on or before November 15 for the discounted rate to apply. - All programs will be available for online registration October 1. - A 20% administrative fee will be charged to non-members participating in camp programs. - HST is not included in program prices and will be charged where applicable. PAYMENT OPTIONS Payment by credit card for online registrations is not available. All members must set up their charging privileges prior to registering online. Register online by logging in to alpineskiclub.com where you will find <Program Registration> in the pull-down menu under your name. Follow the simple on-screen directions. CANCELLATION POLICY If a participant withdraws from any skiing, racing or snowboarding program prior to the cancellation deadline, an administrative fee of $50.00 per participant will be applied. A $25.00 fee will be charged for changing or adjusting programs unless advised by Supervisors. Cancellation after the deadline will be charged 30% of the program price. The cancellation deadlines are: Christmas camp: Dec. 23, 2016 9- & 10-week programs: Dec. 27, 2016 New Year’s camp: Dec. 27, 2016 All programs will run if there is a lift operating. Refund requests after programs have begun (for any reason) must be submitted in writing to the Board for approval. The Club waiver issued as part of the membership dues package covers programs and a signed waiver is a prerequisite to registration. 4 PRIVATE LESSONS All ages and abilities welcome! Tickets must be purchased in the programs office located on the entrance level of the clubhouse opposite the Athletes’ Room. LESSON TIMES 9:30, 10:30, and 11:30 AM, 12:30, 1:30, and 2:30 PM BOOKING POLICIES Lessons may be scheduled ONLY on the day required. Lesson assignment is subject to instructor availability as program staffing has first priority. Lessons will be assigned on a first-come-first-served basis. All private lessons must be confirmed and purchased in person at the programs office no later than 30 minutes prior to the pre-arranged time or the booking will be forfeited in favour of the next person. PRICES Private (1 hour): $68.00 Book of 4 prepaid private lessons: $231.00 Semi-private (1 hour): $52.00 per person Book of four prepaid semi-private lessons: $187.00 Ages 3-5: Private Snowboard Lessons For children who are new to the sport. Private: $70.00/hour. Price includes the use of a Burton Riglet snowboard. Boots not included. Register separately for each camp. 3-5 KIDS’ CLUB SLOPESIDE 5 days Kids learn to slide and turn at Square One. Beginners only. Meet at the top of the Magic Carpet. Time: 9:30-11:30 AM. Price: $150.00; after Nov. 15: $180.00; after Dec. 15: $195.00 3-5 MINI MOUNTAINEERS 5 days For kids who can ski and are able to ride a chairlift with some assistance. This program develops skiing mobility with fun-filled activities. Meet at the base of the Arrowhead Chair. Price: $240.00; after Nov. 15: $288.00; after Dec. 15: $312.00 6-14 COMBO 5 days A blend of ski improvement in varying terrain and skill-enhancing activities. Meet on snow in front of the terrace. Price: $232.00; after Nov. 15: $278.00; after Dec. 15: $301.00 8 Junior Programs MARCH BREAK CAMPS March 13-17 3-5 KIDS’ CLUB SLOPESIDE 5 days Kids learn to slide and turn at Square One.     INTRODUCTION TO SKI RACING: COMPETITION OFFICIAL - ALPINE SEASON 2021 Welcome! This online course has been designed to provide as an introduction to ski racing for parents and new officials and will serve as a foundation for your entry into officiating at an alpine event. Completion of this course, together with current U.S. Ski & Snowboard Alpine Coach/Official or Official membership, is required in order to be certified as a Competition Official (CO). Competition Official certification is one of the prerequisites for certification in the following specialty areas: Chief of Course Chief of Race Jury Advisor – Start and Finish Referee Race Administration Referee Timing & Calculations Technical Delegate New officials should work 1-2 days in each area: Gate Judge, course maintenance under direction of the Chief of Course, assisting the Chief of Race, assisting the Race Secretary, and assisting the Chief of Timing and Calculations. This will provide a good idea of what an individual does or does NOT want to do as an official. Assisting these officials and/or serving in the capacity of a Gate Judge, Jury Secretary, Assistant Starter, Starter, manual timekeeper, course crew, etc., may be recognized for advancement in the Competition Official (CO) category. U.S. Ski & Snowboard Official membership is required for advancement. To complete this course, carefully read each unit and instructions for completing/submitting the required quiz.     Crescent Ski Council (“CSC”) was formed on February 10, 1969. The original Clubs were the Greensboro, Charlotte, Raleigh and Durham-Chapel Hill clubs. The purpose of CSC was to promote skiing and fellowship and plan trips to resort areas. The Best Club Racing you'll find anywhere! The Crescent Ski Council operates one of the finest amateur ski and snowboard racing programs in the nation. Authorized Clubs of the Crescent Ski Council come from Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and West Virginia. Any member of an Authorized Club can race for that club's racing team. Typically, 18 to 22 of Crescent’s Authorized Clubs field a racing team. Races are held on six weekends at North Carolina and West Virginia slopes: Slalom races on Saturdays, Giant Slalom races on Sundays, two runs each day. Additional options are available (most must be booked in advance) for the annual three-day weekend at Silver Creek, WV. Crescent racing offers more than high-quality ski competition. The camaraderie and friendships that develop are a key benefit that grows out of participation in racing. At many events, Crescent racing is a family affair, where two or three generations compete. Crescent racing is highly social, and the racers are a friendly group. Of the reasons current racers list for participation, camaraderie is always among the first. Second, of course, is a love of competition. Crescent racing provides an opportunity to meet, ski, and compete with a group of extraordinary individuals from all walks of life. Crescent Racing also sponsors two local training days in the regular season and a week-long race camp the first week of December in Steamboat, Colorado .

    SNOWBOARDING 2015 GENERAL RULES The Official Special Olympics Sports Rules shall govern all Special Olympics snowboarding competitions. As an international sports program, Special Olympics has developed these rules based upon Federation Internationale de Skie (FIS) rules for snowboarding. FIS rules shall be employed except when they are in conflict with the Official Special Olympics Sports Rules. In such cases, the Official Special Olympics Sports Rules shall apply. Super Glide* *The super glide event is for athletes who can only snowboard on beginner runs (green circle). Athletes registered for super glide may not compete in the super giant slalom, slalom or giant slalom events. SECTION A – COLD WEATHER SAFETY As per Special Olympics, Inc., the International Ski Federation and the United States Ski Association Joint Regulations: a. There are three main factors to be considered by the jury regarding cold weather safety: the temperature, the duration of the exposure, and clothing and other protection against cold weather. These factors together with any other relevant information, such as the "wind chill factor," must be taken into consideration when a decision is made regarding cold weather. SECTION B – RULES OF COMPETITION 1. General Rules and Modifications a. Start areas: All start areas shall be flat enabling the athletes to stand in either a relaxed or ready position. Care should be given for providing easy access to this area as well as securing the area from the flow of general public skier traffic.
