She is the second First Lady who is born outside USA, after Louisa Adams. In this article will you hear about her life from a young model to the United States First Lady. The start of her model career Melania was born Melanija Knavs in Novo Mesto in Slovenia April 26 1970. She grew up with her mother, Amalija, father, Viktor, and sister, Ines. Melania became a model when she was 16 years old. When she was 18 she signed an agency in Milan, Italy. Now her model career started for the fullest. Melania attended the Secondary School of De- sign and Photography in Ljubljana and studied at the University of Ljubljana before dropping out a year later. Over the years she has been on the cover to Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Sports Illustrated, Vanity Fair and New York Maga- zine etc. She has also launched a jewellery collection and a skin care collection. The meet with America At the Fashion Week in New York in 1998 she met Donald Trump for the first time. Even Donald Trump had a date that night, Melania called him for a date only a few days later. In 2001 she moved to America. In 2005 she was married to Donald in Palm Beach, Florida and they got their son, Barron, in 2006. Her work as a First Lady Donald Trump has said many controversial statements upon the years, but Melania doesn't agree with all of them. She has said that when she is the First Lady will she fight against cyber bullying among children and teenagers. One of the things we will remember her for was when she where heavily criticised for plagiarised a part of Michelle Obama's speech during the COP convention. COP is a conference where all the Par- ties of the Convention are represented. Two fun facts: 1. Melania Trump is one of the tallest First Ladies with her 1.80 m, just beaten by Michelle Obama and Ellenor Roosevelt. 2. She can speak six languages: English, Slovene, French, Italian, German and Serbo-Croatian. Sources: Wikipedia, cbsnews.com and thefiscaltimes.com. MCDONALDS By Trym Hauknes and Fahmi Murhaban We are two boys who decided to write about McDonalds. We are going to taste different McDonalds meals, and compare them to other fast food restaurants and burger joints in the US. About McDonalds McDonalds is an American fast food chain which mainly serves burgers. It was founded in 1940 and it was operated by Richard and Maurice McDonald. Now McDonalds is one of the largest restaurant chains in the world. They serve approximately 70 million people daily in 120 countries. Reviews All of these reviews are judged from our taste, and we know that you maybe don't feel the same way as us, but we hope you read this anyway. Chicken Salsa Chicken Salsa is one of our favourite burgers from McDonalds. The crispness of the chicken and the chips fits very well with the fresh salad. The salsa adds even more flavour. We would give the chicken salsa a 4/6. Cheeseburger Cheeseburger is the cheapest burger on the menu. The burger fits well if your hungry and want something cheap. The cheese- burger lacks a bit of flavour due to it not having much contents. We would give the cheeseburger a 2/6. Filet-O-Fish The Filet-O-Fish is a pretty good burger. It's a simple burger and contains only the fish, cheese and dressing. The contents of this burger creates a great taste. We would give this burger a 3/6. Burger King - Crispy Chicken Crispy Chicken is one of our favourite burgers at Burger King. The well fried chicken mix very well with the mayonnaise and the salad. All in all it's a great burger and we would give it a 5/6. In-N-Out - Double-Double The Double-Double is a very big burger. It contains of two beef patties, but doesn't get too dry, due to it having salad and tomato. The cheese and the onions gives a lot of flavour to the burger. We would give this burger a 3,5/6. Wendy's - Baconator The baconator is a pretty big burger with a lot of taste. The burger mix well with the all of its dressings. The bacon tops of the burger with its crispness and taste. We would give this burger a 5/6. Conclusion about McDonalds After eating a lot of burgers from fast food chains in the US we've made our conclusion about McDonalds. We actually think that McDonalds is worse than some of the other fast food chains including Burger King. The burgers from McDonalds are good, but they aren't as good as the burgers from other places, in our opinion. What we like about McDonalds tough, is that the burgers aren't as expensive as the burgers from some of the other chains. We prefer burgers from other fast food chains, but if you like really fast and cheap food McDonalds is probably the thing for you. To sum up our experience with McDonalds we would give the fast food chain a combined score of 3/6 for it's food. Across: 13. An airline 3. State 14. Coffee shop 6. Electronic store 16. You will see an example of a round tour where you travel to different cities, small towns, and tourist attractions. Los Angeles We start our trip in Los Angeles, often called L.A.. Los Angeles has over 17 million citizens and is the second largest city in USA. It's a lot of traffic and people there. You will never feel alone. When you start your trip here can you stay at a hotel in Anaheim. It's more quiet there than it is near Venice Beach. Disneyland is located in Anaheim, so that's the first attraction we can go to. Disneyland Disneyland is divided in two themeparks, Disney California Adventure and Disneyland Park. Disney California Adventure is for older kids, so we take that one. Disneyland has many carousels. Everything from a big roller coaster to a little merry-go-round. You can be there all day and don't even get time to do everything. And it's not far away from a little food booth. Maybe it isn't so far away from a celebrity either. In the evening is it a show by the little lake in the middle of the park. There are lights in different colours which illuminates on the water from many fontains. They have colours, pictures and music which makes a little fairytale. After the water show it is a firework show. Universal Studios Universal Studios is located in the hills near West Hollywood. According to Google Maps it will take 40 minutes to drive from Anaheim to Universal Studios, but with all the traffic, it actually takes about 2 hours. Universal Studios is a park where you can see and learn about how they make movies. There are some attractions their too, for example: the Simpson Ride, Special Effects show and a tour in the artificial city. One thing with Universial Studios is that they made a fake city where everything looks like a real city. It has been made many movies that artificial city. For example: The clocktower in the movie "Back to the Future" is there. Venice and Huntington Beach The next day we can take a day of. Just cool of by the beach. Venice Beach is known for it's long boardwalk along the beach. You can walk many kilometres and look at the view and visit souvenir shops. Venice Beach is for people who like to have many other people around them. Huntington on the other hand, is not as crowdy as Venice. Huntington is more quiet and you feel more comfortable beeing on that beach. It's not long to a diner, either. You just feel relaxed when you are there. Monterey If we drive up the coast on Pacific Coast Highway, we will sooner or later reach Monterey. Monterey is a little town on the coast, about 5 hours north of L. A. The town is quiet, but nice. It is a little weird feeling when you are there because you don't exactly feel that you are in America. Monterey is known for Monterey Bay Aquarium. It's a big aquarium where they of course have many sorts of fish and other sea animals. They even have sea otters. You can spend a whole day there. San Francisco We drive for two hours up the coast to San Francisco. San Francisco is the fourth biggest city in USA with it's 800 000 citizens.

Volume 4, Issue 11 June 2017 The Viral Internet Stunts Parents Should Know CNN, May 24, 2017 Protecting our http://www.cnn.com/2017/05/24/health/viral-youtube-challenges-partner/? iid=ob_homepage_deskrecommended_pool future through It's a tale as old as time: We see a lot of people wearing/doing/saying something and we want to try it, too. Back in the day it was saying "Bloody Mary" into a mirror at slumber parties. Today, it means viral social media information stunts. Though adults get caught up, too, kids are especially susceptible to peer pressure and FOMO (fear of missing out). To them, what was once a double-dog dare is now a popular YouTuber eating a hot pepper just to see what happens. sharing Called "challenges," these stunts range from harmless to horrifying: There are the silly ones (such as the Mannequin Challenge); the helpful ones (like the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge); and the slightly risky ones (such as In This Issue the Make Your Own Slime Challenge). But sometimes, challenges are downright dangerous, resulting in physical injury -- and possibly even death. So what's a parent to do? The Viral Internet Stunts Parents Should Below are some of the hottest challenges that have swept social media; some fade and then make a comeback. In Know most cases, kids are watching these challenges on YouTube purely for entertainment, but some challenges inspire Next Monthly kids to try them out themselves. (In fact, the safe ones can be fun for families to try.) Others -- like the Backpack Webinar - September Challenge -- are often done with the goal of filming other kids and broadcasting the results online.

  • Social Cognitive Theory Psychology of Media
Social Cognitive Theory Psychology of Media Alejandra Feliz, Rachel Elizar, Kirstin Elliott-Noon, Shine` Thompson, Addie Han Definition ● Learning behaviors by observing others performing those behaviors and subsequently imitating them ourselves. ● This theory has four subsections of observational learning from media. For modeling to occur: 1. A person must be exposed to the media example and pay attention to it. 2. The individual must be capable of symbolically encoding and remembering the observer events, including both constructing the representation and cognitively representing it when the media example is no longer present. 3. The individual must be able to translate the symbolic conceptions into appropriate action. 4. Motivation must somehow develop through internal or external reinforcement (reward) in order to energize the performance of the behavior. Development of Theory ● Initially applied to media in context of studying effects of violent media models on behavior (children viewing high risk behaviors on TV, increased their tendency to engage in these behaviors, educational video shown portraying negative consequences decreased behavior) ● Social aggression (mean girls- rumors, ostracism) promiscuous behavior (regardless of negative or positive portrayal) ● Simple exposure can result in increased behavior? Ex: School shootings ● Media: entertainment/ Television (shows, movies, news) ● Still most commonly studied area within SCT ● BUT: Model has other applications such as modeling of sexual, prosocial or purchasing behavior Examples Mannequin Challenge: ● Is a viral Internet video trend where people remain frozen in action, like mannequins while a moving camera films them and the song “Black Beatles” by Rae Sremmurd plays in the background. ● Started by a teenager named Emili in Jacksonville, Florida.
