Bubble Class trip to The Story Museum

Bubble Class absolutely loved their first school trip to The Story Museum in Oxford last Friday. They were lucky enough to watch a special Christmas play containing three stories about bears. They sat beautifully, for nearly an hour and seemed to enjoy joining in with the actions. Afterwards, they had their picture taken with the main actor by a man from The Oxford Times. Their picture will feature in the paper soon! After watching the play, the children were very excited to eat their packed lunch. We then went on to explore The Story Museum which is filled with awe-inspiring rooms. They visited Narnia; got to play on a giant bed; went inside Wallace and Gromit’s house; and dressed up in a King’s palace. Of course, the highlight of the day was taking the Park and Ride to and from the museum… especially as it was double decker! The children were a credit to school which was commented on by several members of the public. We’re looking forward to our next trip in the spring to a castle with our friends at School and Raindrop Class!

FOSRS

A Massive Thank You! FOSRS would like to say a really big thank you to all parents that have supported FOSRS throughout the year. We really rely on the parent body to support us at events and we are extremely lucky to have such hardworking and dedicated people volunteering. Thank you!

Christmas Fayre – another Thank You! Thank you to everyone who attended our Christmas Fayre after the Christingle Service. What a fabulous evening! We really appreciate all the time that parents gave to setting up the stalls and decorating the Grotto. A special mention must go to Sophie, Jenny, Vanessa, Tracey Preedy and Laura for helping decorate the grotto. It looked truly magical. We were very lucky to have Father Christmas visit us and what a wonderful job he did, seeing so many children, in such a short space of time.

Thank you to Tracey Preedy, Elise and Caroline Svendsen for manning an incredibly busy refreshment stall and also John and Rob who cooked up delicious sausages from the BBQ all evening. The most popular stall, the Tombola, was organised by the ‘Tombola Twins’ Moya and Tracy Pryce and every single prize was taken.

The Christmas fayre total is still being counted and will be announced in due course.

Christmas Raffle We had twenty amazing prizes which were won last night after a rather large raffle. First prize (smartphone) was won by Ella James, David Kershaw won second prize of the HTC Smartphone and third prize was taken by Clare Cormack who won the Bluetooth Wireless Speaker and Carry Case. A special mention must go Teg and Louisa who worked tirelessly to collate all the prizes. Clare, Emma Taylor, and Tracey Preedy also donated terrific prizes to the list and we are very grateful.

The Bear! The enormous school teddy bear was named as ‘Snowball’ and won by Isla Wallis (Bubble Class) who correctly guessed the name. Isla gets to look after the bear until the Summer Fayre in June.

The January 100 club draw The 100 Club will be drawn on Friday 6th January 2017.

FOSRS PTA Meeting – Monday 16th January 2017 FOSRS will be holding their first PTA meeting of the New Year will be held on Monday 16th January at 7.30pm at The Cherry Tree . All class reps are invited along with any parent who wishes to come along and listen to what we have planned for 2017. If you are unable to attend but have a suggestion for a new fundraising idea or event, please let the FOSRS team know.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas!
