At the World Championships in Beesd, he captured the title Dutch National Stallion Champion; and in Hoogland, he and Mark de Groot won the 2008 Young Riders competition. At the end of the year, the KWPN evaluated Stuurboord for his three-year-old and four-year- old offspring and upheld his approved stallion status.
