Reflections on 2008 In 2008, Stuurboord won two champion ships. At the World Championships in Beesd, he captured the title Dutch National Stallion Champion; and in Hoogland, he and Mark de Groot won the 2008 Young Riders competition. At the end of the year, the KWPN evaluated Stuurboord for his three-year-old and four-year- old offspring and upheld his approved stallion status.

Reflections on 2008 The year 2008 ended on a high note. The Dutch Hackney Studbook awarded the keur predicate to Plain’s Liberator based on his offspring, making him the first Hackney keur stallion! His offspring are successful Dutch harness horses. For example, Zepplin is his first son to receive KWPN approval, and other of his offspring took home champion sashes in 2008, including Wervelwind with Harm Jan Veenstra, the winners of the Category 4 North Honor Class and Zigemma with Cees Kimenai, winners of the Category 3 South competition.

Afstamming Plain’s Liberator is of course interesting because of the honor class - and he won the Championship. The active new blood he brings to breeding. After all, the fight horse Zigemma (ds.Fortissimo), owned by the Kimenai against in-breeding must continue. In addition, he is a brothers, easily won the Category 3 South competition. proven performer and a handsome black stallion. Plain’s Remarkable horses in the Category 3 Central Liberator passes on his black color well, which is competition include Wodan K, owned by Wim Jansen; desirable from a sales perspective. Zabrina, owned by W. Vierhouten; and Zilverling, owned by Johan de Heul. Breeding is ultimately about a stallion’s ability to produce performance horses. Indeed Wervelwind Plain’s Liberator offspring were also successful in last (ds. Droomwals), owned by Clevering /Veenstra, is truly year’s selections. The following two-year-old were a top horse. Seldom beated by his competition, he has invited to the National Harness Horse Day: Beyoncë shown at the highest level of the Category 4 North - the (ds.Balmoral, breeder: K. Kwarten) and Briljant (ds.

Plain´s liberator: Your black equine partner in the fight against in-breeding! Fabricius, breeder: W. Poppeliers). They finished in 4th and 7th place, respectively. Among two-year-old stallions, three Plain’s Liberator sons finished in the top 10!Be My King (ds.Manno, breeder: C.H. van Dijk) placed 4th, Bicker T (ds. Jonker, breeder: H.H.J. Tonnaer) came in 7th, and Barracuda (ds.Farao, breeder: A. Bonhof) finished 9th. Incidentally, Bicker T was the National Foal Selection Champion. Kimenai, Dongen

Our stallion Zepplin (ds.Fabricius, breeder: R. Tewis) was selected for the performance test last year after successfully completing a retest. He was subsequently registered in the studbook with outstanding scores. In 2009, Plain’s Liberator led the Stallion Selection with ten sons; among these, three became ster, and four were selected for the second round viewing. In the end, Be my King (ds.Manno, breeder: C.H.van Dijk; owners: HBC Stal, W. Prikken, F. & M. Huizinga, U. Haarsma, Be my King, selected for the 2009 and N. van Maaswaal) and Black-Beauty (ds.Heineke, performance test breeder: S.J. Verweij; owners: H.C. Vonk, H.J. van Breeder: C.H. van Dijk, Bunnik Oort, and U. Haarsma) were selected for Ermelo.

Hackney Offspring The quality of Hackney breeding does not require much explanation - the keur predicate says it all. Plain’s Liberator has sired numerous 1st premium foals, champions, and reserve champions. Currently, he boasts four approved sons: Courage, Charming Daylight, Sam van Semarang, and Sterreljocht Suprise.

If you want to help reduce in-breeding and increase Wervelwind with Harm-Jan Veenstra, your chances of getting a black foal, then choose the Category 4 Champion multiple times proven performance stallion Plain´s Liberator! Breeder: W. Clevering, Wijnjewoude

Zepplin: Climbs to great heights! Because he developed wonderfully over time, we decided to present him again for the performance test. Throughout the entire retest, he impressed the judges. His test report describes him as a stallion with good uphill movement and very good neck carriage. In addition, he demonstrated a great deal of knee action with abundant stride length and good to very good bend in the joints of his hind legs, which he brings under his body well. His scores are impressive: 8 for desire to work; 8½ for carriage, suspension, hind leg use, and general impression as a Dutch harness horse; and 9½ for front leg action. Furthermore, the judges deemed him as having “great to very great talent as a Dutch harness horse.”

We had planned to show Zepplin last year in the national Zepplin, impressive at the performance test in Ermelo competition, but unfortunately an injury side-lined those plans. We are now preparing him for the 2009 competition.

Are you looking for new blood but not through a full Hackney? Then Zepplin is for you!
