Medical Oncology Fellowship Program (2) Fellowship Opportunities available IMMEDIATELY!

OVERVIEW  This program is aimed for trainees who have completed residency training in medical oncology.  We have opportunities for both Research Fellowships and Clinical Fellowships.  Fellowship Programs can vary from 1-3 years.  Options for higher qualifications available (MSc, PhD etc.) Graduate Studies Programs

UNIQUE ASPECTS OF A FELLOWSHIP IN OTTAWA  The Medical Oncology Training Program (MOTP) is affiliated with Cancer Centre (TOHCC) and the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (OHRI).  The research arm of the hospital is the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (OHRI) which employs 14 senior scientists with a team of nearly 100 staff  The Division of Medical Oncology has 21 medical oncologists  Many of our oncologists are internationally recognized for their work in clinical research, trial design, basic science, teaching and clinical .  Two local investigators, Dr Glen Goss (Lung) and Dr Derek Jonker (GI) are Disease Site Chairs at the National Cancer Institute of Canada Clinical Trials Group (www.ctg.queensu.ca).  The TOHCC clinical trials office has over 70 active protocols including a growing phase I and II program.  Our program is also unique in that Fellows have their own, longitudinal “Fellows Clinic” where for the time of their Fellowship they actually run their own practice and learn many of the skills required for subsequent independent practice as a specialist.

APPLICATION All applicants are expected to bring funding and/or apply for grant funding. TOHCC has a limited amount of local funds that are restricted to Research Fellowships only and are distributed on a competitive basis.
