Pink Floyd's ground-breaking album The Dark Side of the Moon was the result of a long creative process that began around 1968. A Saucerful of Secrets (the main track from the eponymous album) was, for Nick Mason at least, where it all began. Their next album Ummagumma (1969) gave each band member the opportunity to create a solo piece, though they would have to combine their talents if they wanted to hit the jackpot. Pink Floyd continued to search for the perfect record with Meddle, an album which highlighted their skills in the studio, and Atom Heart Mother, before they reached nirvana with The Dark Side of the Moon. And the album’s perfection hasn’t faded one bit. The Alice Cooper story is, first and foremost, an extraordinary tale of “split personality”. Like something straight out of “The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde”, singer Vincent Furnier surrendered to the domination of showman Alice Cooper. But by his own admission, the man who always speaks of “Alice” in the third person in interviews remains a simple, completely normal guy in private, far from the stage where he enacts his excesses and provocations. Throughout a career stretching over 50 years, there is an evident streak of schizophrenia in his many stylistic changes. While we credit him with the invention of shock rock, he has ventured into almost every genre with varying degrees of success, from pop to nascent hard rock, with forays into heavy metal, new wave and industrial… With 50 million copies sold, Back in Black is the second best-selling album of all time just behind Michael Jackson’s thriller. Who could have imagined that AC/DC’s seventh studio album would pick up so many awards considering their charismatic lead-singer Bon Scott’s premature death after the release of Highway to Hell. The album marked the end of their first chapter but the beginning of their second which fans of the Australian band today continue to relish… For The Fallen Dreams. Hey guys. Easter vacation was amazing. Here is another band: For The Fallen Dreams I recommend this band if you like It Prevails, Misery Signals, Means or The Acacia Strain. For The Fallen Dreams is a metalcore bands from lansing, , formed in 2003. They are currently signed to . They have released a demo, self-titled EP, and three full-length albums, Changes, Relentless, and Back Burner. Relentless charted at number 29 on the Billboard Top Heatseekers. On one side of Hardcore there are a bunch of party scene kids, another side you’ve got a bunch of pissed off guys at the same party getting drunk and into fights. There are also the few like Killing The Dream or Converge who are willing to delve into their honest feelings and admit they’re not prone to sadness like normal people. FTFD is one of these hardcore bands breaking the mold. They do play the same style as The Ghost Inside, or It Prevails, nobody seems to have come up with a name for their new subgenre. They play with melodic guitar sweeps and well executed breakdowns. The vocalist utilizes a fast and well paced combination of death growls and hardcore screams. They have had the same vocalist, Dylan Richter , since 2008. You really don’t hear any screaming on ‘ Changes ‘or even know what the singers voice sounds like if he sang. They have had the same guitarist, Jim Hocking , since 2003 and another guitarist since 2009. Their bass player is fairly new, Brandon Stastny since 2011, originally from Thick As Blood. Their drummer is new, Dylan Shippey , originally from Legend , in FTFD since 2012. FTFD signed to Rise Records during the summer of 2007. The band’s 2008 debut release ‘ Changes ‘ caught the ears and hearts of many, making them one of the biggest acts playing metal core with a melodic hardcore influence. Tracklist: 1. Brothers In Arms 2.New Beginnings 3. Hopeless 4. Last Dying Breath 5. This World Around Us 6. Never Again 7. Changes 8. Vengeance 9. Falling Down 10. Through The Looking Glass Release Date:2008 Download. This isn’t you’re regular or Liferuiner album. There isn’t a breakdown a song pattern neither. They simply use the occasional breakdown to help elevate the song when needed. The guitars are the highlight of this album and they manage to evoke the emotion better then the vocalist per say. Changes does not sound as clear as Relentless or Back Burner , but do not let that keep you from listening to it. This album is full with catchy choruses and breakdowns that will have you screaming for more. The first song on the album, “ Brothers In Arms ” opens up with a very heavy focus on melodic sweeps and heavy vocals it creates a strange, but perfectly executed combination. “ Hopeless ” is another song that has a melodic/hardcore approach after a very hardcore oriented opening, they manage to expertly lead into a very well done melodic piece to keep the song interest. “ Never Again ” is a highlight for it’s amazing heartfelt chorus, and the breakdown sounds better then the average breakdown. “ Falling Down ” is another highlight very much for the same reason, and it’s extremely intricate guitar sweeps.” Changes ” is a complete instrumental and shows off the guitar players ability. “ Vengeance ” is a the most aggressive/hardcore song on the entire album . “ Through The Looking Glass ” manages to switch back to both of the styles of this band in a very unique way, and the outro chorus of “ where do I go from here ” manages to move me, also the added violins and cellos were an extra surprise. I absolutely love their lyrics. “ Never again, Will i fail myself, Never again will i bow to nothing. All i want, is to change. For the best. And all i am is a hollow shell. ” These lyrics are from “ Never Again.” This album is mostly about changes, hence the album title, “Changes.” It really inspires you at times during this song and a few others. “M y last dying breath, I’d bleed for you. ” These lyrics are from the song Last Dying Breath. He is trying to get back someone he loved, saying he’ll do anything to be with them again if that means dying. The lyrics on this album are very honest and you can tell Dylan’s lyrics came strictly from the heart. These guys love the double bass. If you’re expecting that this is one band who actually isn’t complete pissed off at the world, you would be dead wrong (see “ Vengeance ” for proof). “ Relentless ” was released on July 21, 2009. Tracklist: 1. Inro 2. The Call Out Perceptions 3. A Plethora of 4. Nightmares 5. December Everyday 6. Defiance 7. Smoke Signals 8. In Sincerity 9. Before I Regret 10. Two Twenty Two 11. Resurface the End 12. The Pain Loss. They let go their vocalist CHad Ruhlig, and picked up Dylan Richter. Dylan was a great addition to this record. The lyrics improved greatly since he joined. “ Relentless ” is a atmospheric, crushing, dense, and intelligent album that has taken the trademark aspects of metal core throughout the years and reduced it into its own sonic assault. The band has matured tremendously. There is a renewed focus on the vocals of the band. Unlike “ Changes “, the generic “ core ” vocals have evolved with Richter alternating between a harsh, scathing low and end roar and the standard metal core growl. The band’s secondary vocalist and bassist Joe Ellis has introduced melodic clean vocals in wein of Haste the Day or IT Dies Today on exclusive track. Guitarists Jim Hocking and Chris Cain have regained the band’s trademark two-headed juxtaposing guitar attack but in comparison to “ Changes “, the two have toned down the melodic guitar riffs in factor of grinding minor chords. They sound like The Acacia Strain meets Misery Signals in a street fight and the bloodied and battered survivors are the end result. Breakdowns have become more tasteful and still relevant but are no longer the focal point of songs. The drum work has improved immensely. The bass playing of Joe Ellis is inaudible and forgettable. The lyrics on Relentless are mostly negative. They deal with depression and confidence issues, how to deal with the problems in this life. It would take some studying to decipher specific meanings. There is more of a focus on angry chugging than meaningful melodies. My favorite songs on this album have to be Nightmares, Defiance, Before I Regret, December Everyday, Two Twenty Two and Perceptions. Jeremy McKinnon is featured in the song Nightmares . “ And when you find yourself at ease you never will be. ” I love this line because I believe that it is true. We, as humans, will never be 100% content with life. We will always want more than we have. “ We will rot as the sun comes up. We will find a medium of reality.” These lyrics are from the song December Everyday . I absolutely love these lines. It might not be the most happiest words, but it has deep meaning. Everyone has their own perception of reality, good or bad, pretty or ugly, we all have one. I think life is about finding a balance between work, play and love. If you love breakdowns, clean vocals and catchy chorus’s then the album Relentless is for you. “ This is the end, for now I prey, bring it back then take it all away. Before I regret this will never be.” These lyrics are from the song, Before I Regret . This song depicts mixed feelings about someone. He is saying before he regrets getting with that person, he probably shouldn’t at all. So he doesn’t. On September 19, 2010, For The Fallen Dreams posted a new song called “ Strange Faces ” on various media related social networking sites. It was announced in February 2011 that co-founder, drummer, and principal songwriter Andrew Tkaczyk had parted ways with the band to pursue other musical opportunities and joined fellow metalcore act The Ghost Inside prior to their 2011 tour with Parkway Drive . For The Fallen Dreams – Back Burner Tracklist: 1. Say What You Will 2. Deep Down Inside 3. Complicate the Situation 4. Only Unopened Arms 5. My Anthem-Like Symphony 6. The Big Empty 7. Bottom Feeders 8. Don’t Give Up, Don’t Give In 9. The Human Collective 10. Let Go 11. Yellow 12. Fist Fight Release Date: 05/24/2011 Download. The band recorded their third full length album titled Back Burner , a follow up to 2009’s Relentless, in Ocala, Florida with ex -A Day To Remember guitarist handling production and mixing duties. Back Burner was released on May 24, 2011 through Rise Records. I love Back Burner. This album is their best album to date. Since bursting onto the metalcore scene in 2003, Michigan’s melodic hardcore worshipping For The Fallen Dreams has established a sound often compared to Misery Signals . FTFD sound owes more thanks to metalcore than it does melodic hardcore, evidenced by the heavy, down tuned rhythm sections which provide the base for the ambient guitar leads the land has been famed for. Two further members left the band under a cloud, one of which was drummer and principle songwriter Andrew Tkaczyk . A mixture of unresolved issues involving the departed band members and not replacing these members full time put the band’s long term future in jeopardy and much of the lyrical content of Back Burner is concentrated on these struggles. The lyrical content is written quite well, and the singing is pulled off nicely. “ Deep Down Inside ” is an uplifting song, which leads into the fast and brutal “ Complicate The Situation ” which will please fans of their older albums. “ Stop holding things in just to build frustration. Complicate the situation. Go ahead and look around at all the things that bring you down, you can’t even save yourself.” This song is about someone doing something untrue to you and how you wish karma would come to collect already and for you to burn in hell. “ Only Unopened Arms ” is mostly singing. If a change of style is what they were going for, then they succeeded. “Throw my hands up in the air, but I’ll never be okay. Every nerve in my body hurts, I’ll never be okay.” I think this song is about fighting with someone you really care about. It’s about someone failing you and letting you down, and you can’t help but forgive them for making a mistake. “ The Big Empty ” gives listeners a mosh-worthy beginning before going into a long build up into singing “ I’ve been down this road, a thousand times before, do you know what it takes, to bring me to your door?” “Don’t Give Up, Don’t Give In ” will hopefully become a staple into their live set as being the most energetic song that can get a crowd moving. As for the heaviest, that might go to the singing-less “ Let Go.” They are currently in the studio working on their first release for Artery, recording again with Tom Denny and mixing and mastering done by The Machine . A summer 2012 release is expected. If you’ve been looking for a new hardcore band to listen to, I highly recommend For The Fallen Dreams to you. For the fallen dreams album download. And the album’s perfection hasn’t faded one bit. Having sold 125 million albums across the globe, including some 30 million copies of their “Black Album”, Metallica is among the unlikeliest of pop sensations to come out of the last half-century. So how did a heavy metal band with such a convoluted song structure end up on par with music from the likes of Madonna and Michael Jackson? By following their instincts and sheer determination. Let’s return to the roots of the most famous heavy metal band in history. The Alice Cooper story is, first and foremost, an extraordinary tale of “split personality”.
