ANTARCTIC LOGISTICS & EXPEDITIONS

NAME OF INTERCONTINENTAL AIRCRAFT: Ilyushin IL-76TD, TBD registry

NUMBER OF PASSENGERS: A maximum of 55 passengers on each of eleven inbound flights, 8 staff and crew on each flight. A total of 300 passengers for the season is anticipated. Forty ground-based expedition staff will facilitate activities on-Continent.

ITINERARY: A number of flights to and within Antarctica are planned, according to the following itinerary. Equipment to be used within Antarctica include three De Havilland DHC-6 Twin Otter aircraft, inter alia, for passenger transport, logistic and medivac support. All expeditions depart from and return to Punta Arenas via base camp at Patriot Hills. Site visits may vary depending on weather and ice conditions.

- Flight (flights from Patriot Hills to South Pole): November 27- December 10, 2008; December 3-10; December 10-16; December 16-29; December 29-January 4, 2009; January 4-10. These programs typically include 10 clients each, but can accommodate up to 60 persons.

- Emperor (observation of rookery at Dawson-Lambton Glacier): November 8-20, 2008. This program typically includes 6 clients, but can accommodate up to 12 persons.

- Mt. Vinson (exploration of Vinson Massif): November 20-December 3, 2008; November 27-December 10; December 3-16; December 16-29; December 29- January 10, 2009; January 10-23. These programs typically include 25 clients each, but can accommodate up to 140 persons.

- Ski Last Degree (ski trips to South Pole from 87-89ºS): December 3-16, 2008; December 16-29; December 29-January 10, 2009; January 10-23. These programs typically include 16 clients each, but can accommodate up to 64 persons.

- Odyssey (exploration of area around Patriot Hills): December 10-18, 2008; January 4-10, 2009. These programs typically include 4 clients each, but can accommodate up to 8 persons.

- Ellsworth Mountains Safari (exploration of Ellsworth Mountains): December 16- 29, 2008; January 10-23, 2009. These programs typically include 4 clients each, but can accommodate up to 8 persons.

- Ice Marathon (marathon race in Patriot Hills area): December 10-18, 2008. This program typically includes a maximum number of 20 persons.

- Ski South Pole All the Way (ski expedition from Hercules Inlet to South Pole): November 8, 2008-January 10, 2009; (ski expedition from Messner to South Pole): November 20, 2008-January 10, 2009.
