Two new members joined the 150 games club over the opening round of the season, seeing Haiden u Tony Notte (SD) Schloithe and Alex Howard become life members of South Fremantle and Swan Districts respectively. You’d be hard-pressed to find a more consistent player in the WAFL than Haiden Schloithe. A midfielder with plenty of flair and skill, the Katanning product will be remembered as one of the finest to come out of South Fremantle. Alex Howard has gone about his business quietly but remains one of the most important players to Swans. A reliable defender that is rarely beaten, Howard dreamed of playing for the Bassendean club and will relish the life membership reward. Notte has the crown for most games by a current player at 237 for Swan Districts, while Subiaco’s Kyal Horsley sits beside him having recently passed 200 WAFL games at the end of last season. A highlight of the 2020 season may well be Swan Districts’ skipper Matt Riggio reaching 200 games. The 32-year-old veteran requires just six more games to reach the coveted mark, meaning round eight against Perth at Steel Blue Oval could be a giant celebration. Four more individuals have the opportunity to reach 150 games later in the season. Swan Districts’ midfielder Steven Payne sits on 143 games, having played the majority of his football at East Perth before switching to Steel Blue Oval for the past two seasons. Perth forward Matt Rogers could reach 150 via a home fixture against Subiaco in Round 7. The 29-year- old spent the first part of his career in the red and black before making Swan Districts his home for six seasons. Having returned to Mineral Resources Park in 2019, it would be fitting to reach the milestone back where it all began for Rogers. 2 3 WAFL MATCH PREVIEWS brought to you by waflfootyfacts.net Provident Financial Oval - 25th July @2.30pm #WPvSF Tip 2nd 1-0 126.83% 1st 1-0 552.38% South Fremantle by 24 W11 Form Guide W95 Fact: South Fremantle have won 11 of the last 12 games against West Perth, with the Falcons only win in that period being the 2018 Preliminary Final.
