The Vegan Festival (VF) is a notforprofit event produced and presented by the registered charity GIVE Foundation. The Festival is first and foremost a public educational event which provides a welcoming environment for patrons to learn more about all aspects of Vegan lifestyles. The Festival's focus on helping grow a compassionate community is reflected in the Festival's fund raising for environmental, health, lifestyle, animal rights and welfare groups and organisations who share the Festival's vision. The Festival comprises of live music/performers, guest speakers, food stalls, kids activities, cooking demos, entertainment and various other stalls (merchandise/ services/NFP) to create a funfilled festival atmosphere that also strongly supports the promotion of local grassroots communities, multiculturalism, Indigenous people and their culture. The Vegan Festival is an outdoor event held in Victoria Square (Tardanyangga), a highly visible and accessible venue, providing an inviting space right in the heart of Adelaide’s CBD. The Square is walking distance from the Central Market and close to a tram station, bus stops and train station; as well as being easy to walk or cycle to. Car parking is also available within walking distance. The World's first solar electric bus, named Tindo (the Kaurna Aboriginal word for ‘sun’) may also be available as a free service on the Festival days. The Festival provides a platform to give opportunities to link organisations and local communities to information and education to further create and sustain the development of our city. The aim is to demonstrate good community development practice through the involvement of community groups and schools prior to and during the event. The Vegan Festival also focuses on helping creating strong and fair communities and makes Adelaide a more vibrant and culturally diverse place to live, study, work and visit.
