Price began his training in Karatedo and Kobudo in 1982 at the Columbia School of Karatedo in West Columbia, SC, under the direction of Hanshi Ridgely Abele. In 1985 he began studying Ju-Jutsu along with his Karatedo training. In 1997 he began studying Baguazhang and Qigong, then in 1999 began his study of Taijiquan and Xingyiquan. Mr. Price trains with several nationally and internationally known instructors in the martial arts of Karatedo, Kobudo, Ju-Jutsu, Judo, Chin-Na, Kyusho-Jutsu, Aikido, Wing Chun, Xingyiquan, Baguazhang, Taijiquan & Qigong. Troy Price conducts seminars nationally and in Europe and in 2004 he was awarded a international instructor’s license to teach Martial Arts worldwide. He has traveled and trained throughout the United States, Europe, Mainland China, Hong Kong and Southeast Asia. He presently serves as Director of the Shurite Bujutsu-Kai. It is a great opportunity to connect with people to exchange experiences and stories. 6) The past attendees enjoyed the non-denomination worship ceremony that helped to bring the energy of gratitude together. They said that the free time to meditate, pray, contemplate, or simply breathe deeply was spiritual. 5) The Friendship demonstration on Saturday in the past was a draw. A traditional Chinese Lion Dance from Yee’s Hung Ga Kung Fu, led by Sifu Sharif Bey will join other Sifus to provide an eye feast with various Chinese Martial Arts performances.

A remake of a 1984 film, this iteration of The Karate Kid begins its imaginative battle over martial arts turf with English and Chinese titles at odds with one another. For English- speaking audiences, the title of the film promises a remake of the popular 1984 story of a displaced Italian American teenager (Ralph Macchio) trained by a Japanese American sensei (Pat Morita) to compete against the local karate bullies. However, the 2010 version has another identity competing with the first. Its Chinese title translates as Kung Fu Dream – Japanese culture, karate, and domestic American class and racial politics out of the picture. In this version, an African American youngster (Jaden Smith) moves to Beijing from Detroit and is taken under the wing of a drunken kung fu master (Jackie Chan) to battle a group of wu shu/san da villains.
