G.O. (Rt) No. 323/2014 G.Edn dated 18/02/2014 The Technical High School Leaving Certificate (THSLC) Examination for the Academic year 2016-2017 is scheduled to be conducted from 08.03.2017 to 28.03.2017 as per the Time Table included in this notification. Government as per G.O. cited 5th above has ordered to revise and revamp the curriculum of the Government Technical Schools in Kerala. Accordingly the Subjects, Marks and Grades have also changed. The details of Subjects and Marks are included in this notification separately. As per G.O (Rt) No. 4610/2012 G.Edn dated, 28/09/2012 the maximum score for IT examination to the regular candidates is fixed as 50. 40 score will be for public examination and 10 score for continuous evaluation. Out of the 40 scores, 10 score is for theory examination and 30 score for practical examination. IT theory examination will not be a written examination for regular candidates and it will be conducted along with the practical examination using computer. As per G.O. (Rt) No. 3936/2013 G.Edn. dated 28/09/2013, the Government decided to reduce the time allowed to IT Examination will be 1 hr from the academic year 2013-14. 2017 March Examination will be the last chance to the THSLC Students of old scheme who had not passed the examination. The Students those who failed in 2015-2016 academic year can appear the examination for the year 2016-2017 as private candidate. 1 DETAILS OF THE EXAMINATION ARE GIVEN BELOW Sl. Sl. The Superintendents of the Technical High Schools in which the Examinations are conducted will be the Chief Superintendents of the Centres concerned. The Superintendents who are due to retire from service on 31.03.2017 will not be posted as Chief Superintendent. 4. Category of Candidates (a) Regular The candidates who have satisfactorily undergone the prescribed course in any one of the above THS and THSS during the academic year 2016-17 as per the syllabus approved are eligible to appear for the examination as regular candidates. Those who have completed 14 years of age as on 01/06/2016 can appear for the examination. 85% of attendance is fixed as the minimum attendance required by a candidate in Technical High Schools. Candidates who have not acquired the required percentage of attendance or whose shortage of attendance has not been condoned by the concerned authorities will not be permitted for the examination.

ARTICLE INFO ABSTRACT Article history: Water is one of the most valued natural resource and hence the management of its quality Received: 26 September 2016; is of special importance. Comparatively, higher bacterial density was found in the liver samples of the fish collected from the downstream, than in other organs of the fish collected from the upstream segment.

K. Puram, New Delhi-110066 FOREWORD Salinity is a significant challenge and poses risks to sustainable development of Coastal regions of India. If left unmanaged, salinity has serious implications for water quality, biodiversity, agricultural productivity, supply of water for critical human needs and industry and the longevity of infrastructure. The Coastal Salinity has become a persistent problem due to ingress of the sea water inland. This is the most significant environmental and economical challenge and needs immediate attention. The coastal areas are more susceptible as these are pockets of development in the country. Most of the trade happens in the coastal areas which lead to extensive migration in the coastal areas. This led to the depletion of the coastal fresh water resources. Digging more and more deeper wells has led to the ingress of sea water into the fresh water aquifers turning them saline. The rainfall patterns, water resources, geology/hydro-geology vary from region to region along the coastal belt.
