Pens de Luxe Group of fine pen shops is the largest pen specialty retailer in Australia. With three shops in Sydney, two shops in Brisbane, one in Perth city and a national online store. The Pen Shoppe was founded in Brisbane in 1980 by Bruce A.Nichol.
In 2002, The Pen Shoppe acquired the Pen-Ultimate store in Miller Street North Sydney. Then in 2004, another Pen-Ultimate store was opened in the landmark Queen Victoria Building on Level 2. By 2007, the third Sydney store had Barbara Nichol, QVB Sydney been opened in Chifley Plaza.

In 1929, the young company launched the world's first all-metal mechanical clutch pencil, the Fixpencil. A year later the first propelling hand engraved Ecridor pencil models in gold & silver made their debut. In 1953, the Ecridor ballpoint was launched.
In its eighty-three year history, Caran d’Ache has become synonymous with creativity, refinement and excellent quality. Caran d’Ache has in essence created its own genre within the realm of fine writing instruments. The Caran d’Ache company remains an independent family enterprise with an international reputation.

Born in Savoy in 1847, to a family of millers, Simon Tissot-Dupont was only twenty-five when he founded the company that would bear his name. An enterprising and passionate young man, he was determined to succeed in Paris and by recruiting several talented craftsmen, he established what swiftly became a prestigious leather goods workshop.
In particular, Simon manufactured wallets Place Vendome Mozambique and maroquins, the Column Edition attaché cases of the time, bearing the initials of senior civil servants. Lacque de Chine became a signature finish in the 1920’s for Dupont, the company catering to the highest level of the luxury market.

The Faber-Castell Family Guilloche company was founded in 1761, when Kasper Faber Chevron began to make his first graphite pencils in Stein, Germany. The 19th Century saw his Great Grandson Intuition Lothar Faber transform the Terracotta company. He mechanised production and created standards for todays pencil size and grades of lead hardness.
Today, Count Anton von Faber-Castell (Andy) lives in Sydney, Australia and is responsible for Faber-Castell in the Asia Pacific region.

Exception His system was soon adopted by all manufacturers of fountain pens. In 1884, Waterman began to advertise regularly in magazines. The success of these advertising campaigns soon led all of Waterman's friends to finance the opening of the first true pen factory. An agreement was signed Exception with a company in New York which made gold nibs and the “Ideal Pen Company” was created. In 1926, Waterman’s French agent, invented the GIF ink cartridge. Waterman today, is still committed to pursuing its role as the creator of classically dreamy fountain pens.
