Interesting New Developments in Germany's Fastest One- Make newsroom Motorsports Nov 30, 2018 Interesting new developments in Germany’s fastest one- make cup 2019 marks a very special motorsport year for the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland: Germany’s fastest one-make cup series celebrates its 30th anniversary. The attractive race calendar includes 16 races run as support to the ADAC GT Masters and DTM weekends. The Talent Pool, a successful support programme within the Carrera Cup Deutschland, will continue in 2019. This programme, aimed to assist talented youngsters on their way to international GT racing, was initiated last season. In 2019, the race calendar consists of two races at each of the eight race weekends. In addition, two days of testing will be held before the start of the season. Six of the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland weekends are run as support to the ADAC GT Masters. In addition to the races on the Nürburgring, the Hockenheimring and the Sachsenring, competitors compete on three weekends outside Germany, namely at Most in the Czech Republic, Spielberg in Austria and Zandvoort in the Netherlands. The other two weekends of the one-make cup series will be contested alongside the DTM: the season-opener at the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg and at the storied Norisring racetrack in Nuremberg. At each of the events, a 30-minute sprint race will be contested on both Saturday and Sunday. New youth development initiative A completely new youth development initiative called the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland Talent Pool was launched last season. Sixteen promising young guns benefitted from the extensive support. For 2019, the concept, which includes comprehensive coaching from the Porsche professional Wolf Henzler, fitness tests, individualised training plans, media and mental training as well as free sets of tyres, will be developed further. Moreover, the number of participants will be capped and the quality as well as the support offered will increase significantly. The talent pool is a key component in this, hence we will continue to work on optimising the programme to meet the needs of these talented youngsters,” explains Oliver Köppen, project manager of the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland. Fans can also look forward to broad media coverage. All races will be broadcast in full length on Sport 1.     30th September 2019 Press Release n. 96 European Supersport Cup 600: Kyle Smith wins the 2019 FIM Europe Supersport Cup Kyle Smith (Team Pedercini Racing) was able to clinch the 2019 FIM Europe Supersport Cup title at Circuit de Nevers Magny Cours in France following a year of intense battle in the ever-competitive series. 2019 had a positive start for Smith that at the first round of the season in Aragón was able to finish inside the top ten, crossing the line in ninth position. But after a strong beginning, the British rider had to experience more difficulties when he headed to The Netherlands seven days later. With the severe weather conditions and the cold temperatures at the TT Circuit Assen, Smith had a tough weekend, and after having qualified sixteenth on the grid, he crashed out in the race while he was fighting for points. Cheered by the Italian fans, Smith scored points in Imola finishing thirteenth, but the same he couldn’t do in Jerez as in a frantic second lap in the race, he crashed out and couldn’t rejoin the race. The FIM Europe Supersport Cup headed back to Italy for Round 7 at Misano World Circuit, but after a good start in the race, Smith eventually dropped down in nineteenth position. Misfortune continued for the British rider, as at his home round at Donington Park a technical issue put an early end to his weekend. Determined to end his 2019 season on a high, Smith returned strong and confident on the Portuguese asphalt after nearly two months of summer break at Portimao.

The KÜS Team75 Bernhard will tackle the pro-category of the 24-hour race in Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium, with a Porsche 911 GT3 R. Herberth Motor- sport fields two Porsche 911 GT3 R at the event from July 27 to 30 driven by profes- sional and amateur drivers. Inaugurated in 1924, the 24 Hours of Spa has a long tra- dition. The squad of the two-time Le Mans winner and team owner Timo Bernhard can rely on the Porsche works drivers Michael Christensen (Denmark), Kévin Estre (France) and Laurens Vanthoor (Belgium). Vanthoor has a wealth of racing experience at his home circuit and won the endurance classic in 2014. One of Herbert Motorsport’s contenders will be manned by Porsche works driver Sven Müller (Germany), Porsche Young Professional Mathieu Jaminet (France) and the amateur pilots Daniel Alle- mann (Switzerland) and Ralf Bohn (Germany). An all-German driver lineup of Alfred and Robert Renauer, Jürgen Häring and Marc Lieb share driving duties in the sister car.     RACING TOWARDS A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE A REVIEW OF THE SUSTAINABILITY PERFORMANCE OF INTERNATIONAL RACING CIRCUITS Edition June 2021 Racing towards a sustainable future FOREWORD I have been involved with the safety and sustainability of racing tracks for many years now, as a driver, GPDA Chairman and a circuit designer. And while I would argue that big improvements have been made in terms of safety, I also know that there is a long way to go in terms of fully embracing sustainability for racing tracks around the globe. Though circuits have started to change the way in which they approach sustainability, more guidance on what sustainability means and how a circuit can be sustainable are needed. This is why I welcome this new research and the data-driven proposal of the Sustainable Circuits Index™, highlighting indicators from the wider sustainability and sport ecosystem, encouraging best practice and calling attention to the importance of transparent reporting and independent validation. Motorsport has historically been defined by its commitment to innovation and excellence through competition. It’s now critically important for our sport to demonstrate its commitment to sustainability through collaboration. This paper highlights the new metrics for success in this global effort and provides circuits with the tools they need to help win the race for our planet, a race which we can only win together.
