Safety brief: check. Preflight checks: complete. Next up: a 400 mph ride with the U.S. Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron, better known as the Thunderbirds. The Thunderbirds landed at Peterson May 26 in preparation for the Air Force Academy graduation ceremony May 28. As part of their community outreach program, the squadron provides selected community figures with a once-in-a-lifetime chance to ride in the backseat of one of the Thunderbirds aircraft. “I was very surprised at first when I received the phone call,” said Chief Christopher Riley, Colorado Springs Fire Department chief and selected guest Thunderbirds passenger. “I am very honored and excited about the oppor- tunity to fly with the Thunderbirds.” Riley was one of two VIPs selected to fly with the world-famous Thunderbirds. The other was local TV personality and meteo- rologist, Rachael Plath of KRDO News. “I am not nervous, these people (the Thunderbird squadron) are complete pro- fessionals and have a lot of experience with handling guests like myself,” said Riley. “I did a little research, but from watching TV, the news and movies, I have a pretty good idea about what I am getting myself into.” (U.S. Air Force photo/Michael Golembesky) The individuals selected for this unique PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. – Chief Christopher Riley, with the Colorado Springs Fire Department, fastens his restraint harness after putting on a gravity-suit opportunity are selected from a handful of May 27, in preparation for a ride in an F-16 Fighting Falcon, the aircraft flown by the U.S.

Unfortunately, what they did was take several draconian measures and backward steps in eliminating about 70% of all of the formerly licensed and legal properties in New Orleans. Megan McCrea (NASTRA) The city was basically trying to pass a ban on short term rentals. And even those of us who were in operation would have to stop. Phil Minardi (Expedia) Right now in the US, we have over 4200 municipalities, I would say, decent guests is that at least half of them at this point, have either had the conversation about regulations or are currently having them right now. Paige Teel (NEVRP) We are trying to figure out exactly how we want to be defined, which has always been something that's been hard for us because we've we're not gonna say flown under the radar, but we've also not been regulated. So there's kind of a two edged sword to that, especially now due to the Coronavirus.

GUMBO A full-length musical For New Orleans "I wonder if Katrina is becoming like one of those fairytales for Americans. It's something we can't get our imaginations around. It's too large for that, and so instead it seems to be fragmenting into a thousand parables, some of them right, some of them very wrong, and most of them defying categorization all together." ―Rivka Galchen, The New Yorker * SETTING - Above, around and inside the bowl of a Crescent City―the City is a mythic representation of the great city of New Orleans. - The Gumbo Pot, an underwater speakeasy of today Note: There should be virtually no set—the people/ The City should embody the ever- shifting worlds. TIME In and around a timeless August 29 to late September 2005 NOTES ON ACCENT/DIALOGUE "Mrs. Reilly called it that accent that occurs south of New Jersey only in New Orleans, that Hoboken near the Gulf of Mexico." ―John Kennedy Toole, A Confederacy of Dunces - Not your “traditional” Southern accent. No Streetcar, please. • Home Service Plan
Home Worship Service Plan May 31, 2020 • Churchwide Bible Study Phase 3: Week 6 (red) • Pentecost (Church’s Birthday) 1 Thessalonians 5:1-11; 14-24 “Wide Open” As Paul says so well: ‘Don’t suppress the Spirit.’ Preparation Gather these items for worship. If you don’t have a particular item, fret not.. • a piece of red cloth • a glass of water • a lighter or match • a computer or internet- • an end table or stand • as many candles as you • a small fan accessible device • a plate have participants (it can • a Bible • a cup be a scented candle) For each item you have, thank God for the provision. For each piece you do not have, thank God you don’t need it. Place the table/ stand in the area you plan to worship. If more than one person will be present, place the table in the middle of where you will be seating. Drape the cloth over it. Arrange the cup, plate, and glass of water on the table. Put one candle on the table (to light) and keep one for yourself (if more than one participant, each person should have a candle to hold) Keep the Bible in front of you, open to the passage for today. Before we get going, a word about seasons. You may have noticed that throughout the last seven weeks we’ve been concluding sections of the service with “Christ is risen! Christ is risen, indeed! Hallelujah!” Starting with this service, we stop saying it. This is NOT because it’s no longer true (of course it is).
