David Berard enters his 16th season overall in college hockey and his Stan Moore, a 1978 graduate of Oswego State, begins his third third as an assistant under Head Coach Tim Army. Overall, it's Berard's consecutive season and sixth overall as an assistant coach at Providence 10th consecutive season at Providence. He served as the Associate Head College. He finished with two points. The Friars welcome two freshmen to the defensive crew. Joe Lavin (Shrewsbury, Mass.) and Eric Baier (North Kingstown, R.I.) will play key roles on the Friar squad. Lavin is the first member of the United States National Under 18 Team to play at Providence College. Last season with the U.S. Under 18 National Team, Lavin recorded 18 points on five goals and 13 assists. He also was third on the squad with four power-play tallies. Baier is one of four newcomers who played for the New Hampshire Junior Monarchs. He was the top scoring defenseman on the team last season as he recorded 30 points (10 goals, 20 assists) in 51 games. He was selected as a Bean Town Classic Best Pro Prospect in 2005 and 2006.

As it is with any hockey team, goaltending is perhaps the most impor- tant position. The Friars will feature three veteran netminders, who all will vie for the starting position. • Providence College finished the season with a 10-23-3 overall record, including a 9-15-3 mark in Hockey East. The Friars recorded nine league wins to finish in eighth-place.

• PC recorded upset wins over four ranked teams. The Friars defeated No. 3 Boston College, 5-3, October 31, No. 4 Maine, 2-0, on January 19, No. 14 Vermont, 4-1, February 3 and No. 3 New Hampshire, 7-1, on February 24.

• Freshman defenseman Mark Fayne (Bourne, Mass.) was selected to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team.

• Sophomore Cody Wild (North Providence, R.I.) was a Hockey East Honorable Mention selection.

• Junior Jon Rheault (Deering, N.H.) was named Hockey East Player of the Week on 2/26/07.

• Senior captain Tony Zancanaro (Trenton, Mich.) finished his career at PC by playing in 146 consecutive games. Zancanaro, who did not miss a single game in a Friar uniform, is tied for eighth all-time at PC in career games played.

• The Friars outshot their opponents in 30 of their 36 contests this year.

• PC posted a 2-0-3 record in overtime games this season.

• Junior Jon Rheault (Deering, N.H.) led the Friars in scoring with 25 points on 12 goals and 13 assists.
