The actions listed above do not require an air quality determination. Changes called for in this STIP amendment maintain financial constraint as required under 23 CFR 450.218. Additionally, our approval of the FY 2021-2025 STIP was subject to the resolution of one corrective action. On December 29, 2020, we received an action plan update addressing the corrective action and a number of recommendations, indicating that all self-certifications have been updated and completing the corrective action.

Grunow, Byrd Polar Research Center, Ohio State University INTRODUCTION Conglomerate throughout the Boston Basin in eastern Massachusetts (Fig. 1) has long been called after the Roxbury district of Boston (early references in Holmes, 1859 and Shaler, 1869) and subdivided into three members typified by strata in the encircling communities of Brookline, Dorchester and the Squantum section of Quincy, MA (Emerson, 1917). NEIGC field trips, beginning with one led by W.O. Crosby in 1905, and also GSA-related field trips have provided regular opportunities for generations of geologists to debate the depositional settings of all of these rocks, particularly the possible glacial origin of the Squantum "Tillite". It appears, however, that none of these outings has ever included a stop in Roxbury itself (Table I and lettered localities in Fig. 1). A main purpose of this trip will be to visit the nominal Roxbury type locality in a section of the historic quarries where recent re-development includes the newly opened Puddingstone Park. Other stops will permit comparison of type Roxbury Conglomerate with other rocks traditionally assigned to this formation and highlight geochronological and paleomagnetic data bearing on the ages of these units. Known today as Guangzhou, this Chinese city witnessed the economic dynamism of global commerce until the demise of the Canton System in 1842. Records of its commercial vitality and global interactions faded only because we have allowed our image of old Canton to be clouded by China’s weakness beginning in the mid-1800s. By reviving this story of economic vibrancy, I restore the historical contingency at the juncture at which global commercial equilibrium unraveled with the collapse of the Canton system, and reshape our understanding of China’s subsequent economic experience. I explore this story of the China trade that helped shape the modern world through the lens of a single prominent merchant house and its leading figure, Wu Bingjian, known to the West by his trading name of Houqua.

Daigle 2010 i Abstract For as long as public opinions have generally thought to be known there have been claims made that knowledge of where people stand can impact both the attitudes and behaviors of others. Previous research has had mixed results in identifying and measuring the effects of ―bandwagons‖. This research uses better data and derives tests from contemporary theories of public opinion to show that not only do bandwagons definitively exist, but also that they exist most often among the groups of people we would expect to be influenced by ambient information: those adequately prepared to receive a message but not so sophisticated as to not be influenced by it. At the presentation of its last report the Board was preparing to continue the acquirement of the banks of Charles River, and was engaged in the investigation of avail- able shore frontages and of certain proposed boulevards. Towards the close of its last session the Legislature made an appropriation of $1,000,000 as an addition to the Metropolitan Parks Loan, but further takings were de- layed until the uncertainties of war were clearly passed. Acquirements of land and restrictions have been made or provided for however along Charles River as far as Hemlock Gorge, so that the banks for 19 miles, except where occu- pied by great manufacturing concerns, are in the control either of this Board or of some other public or quasi public body. A noble gift of about 700 acres of woods and beau- tiful intervales south of Blue Hills and almost surroundingr Ponkapog Pond has been accepted under the will of the late ' Henry L. Pierce. A field in Cambridge at the rear of « Elm- wood," bought as a memorial to James Russell Lowell, has been transferred to the care of this Board, one-third of the purchase price having been paid by the Commonwealth and the remaining two-thirds by popular subscription, and will be available if desired as part of a parkway from Charles River to Fresh Pond.
