Your Training Course (TC) Coordinators are: Apostolis Vagenas - Projects' manager Laurence Watticant – Project manager Joetz [email protected] [email protected] tel. +30 69 34 59 04 75 +32 476 21 84 35 2 Background and Theme of the Project Inclusion is a high priority in the Erasmus+ program: “Europe needs more cohesive and inclusive societies which allow citizens to play an active role in democratic life. Education and youth work are key to promote common European values, foster social integration, enhance intercultural understanding and a sense of belonging to a community, and to prevent violent radicalisation. Erasmus+ is an effective instrument to promote the inclusion of people with disadvantaged backgrounds.” The crisis of 2020/21 learns us that there are limits to our society wherein everything seemed to be possible in the previous decades. There is a new order of priorities. Because of this modification we need to readjust the stimulation of inclusion, employability and the flexibility of our youngsters. How can we continue from now on? We are conscience now of new stimulus in our life and those stimulus require our adaptation. What are the new needs for our young persons in our communities? In this TC we are going to stimulate the involvement and inclusion to a stronger empowerment. This empowerment (resilience) is not only effective on the individual level, the real inclusion works on the collective level. A deep connection with ourselves has more value with a growing collective development and commitment. And, inverse, a deeper society connection leads to a deep connection with ourselves by mirroring each other. Only this mutual process leads to more freedom in our society of change by taking responsibility and taking care. This freedom opens the doors to inclusion of any kind and include diversity which are the keys to more pro- activity and equal chances in our society and democratic life. We consider youth workers as professionals for who inclusion is an important part of their work. In particular ‘youth at risk’ is an important target group for youth workers : Young persons who feel excluded, disappointed, with little confidence and self-esteem are in a danger to get involved in extreme groups. Youth workers deliver important work with looking for young persons who dropped out. In this field innovation is a part of professional development and very important to invest in. We believe that Inner Leadership serves the young persons and youth workers in inclusion. Inner Leadership means: learning to make your own decisions and actions, and pay responsibility to your own decisions and actions. This means that you are the owner of your life because Inner Leadership gives direction to the life you want to life as a young person. Taking care, empathy and express yourself in many different ways are key points in this process. We use methods which are appropriate to detect feelings, values and senses under the surface, but also as a prevention tool by stimulating experiencing feelings and commitment on a deeper level, which can avoid exclusion and isolation. 3 Overall Aim The overall aim of the TC is to increase the awareness of personal strengths and authenticity among youth workers during a personal journey of self-discovery. From this individual reflection our participants take the active step of commitment with each other by sharing and experiencing. We stimulate our participants to support the young people they work with to guide them in their learning process as more resilient persons for their uncertain future. Our participants do this by applying their own learning process to their young people after the training course. Objectives • To support youth workers to become more aware of themselves, thus to enable them to make conscious choices and decisions that fit with the core of their identity and their goals in life (Inner Leadership). • To frame a learning process where youth workers can fill in their own future story concerning unexpected change in their life. • To look how you can rely on powerless, inconvenient feelings and deal constructively with them (resilience). • To provide youth workers with tools to support a deep connection with young persons they work with through a similar process. • To make a clear transition from the learning process in the TC to the daily reality back home after the TC. • To reflect on their own learning process by using the Key Competences from the Youth Pass and give the opportunity for capacity building in the context of the Erasmus+ Program. Approach and Methodology This training course will be based on non-formal and informal education with a self- directed learning approach. That means that the participants are responsible for their own learning and the facilitators provide activities and guide the participants through their own learning process. We, the trainers, will give the responsibility of learning back to the trainees. The trainers guide the trainees through this learning process and they learn with them. The training course will be characterised by highly participatory, interactive and experiential methods. The working methods will include case studies, working in pairs and small groups, contemplations, team building activities, discussions, and self-assessment. Some sessions will be complemented by theoretical inputs, and all of them will be followed by group reflection or self-reflection. Profile of the Participants Participants will be youth workers, project leaders and educators involved in youth work. The participants will have a multiplier role - in other words: they will adapt what they learn in this training course to their own context of working with young people. In their future 4 projects and daily work they can incorporate tools, methods and theories which they have learned during this Training Course. They can also use their personal learning and development in their daily work with their own target groups. This Training Course will be an emotionally challenging project for trainers and trainees. That’s why we expect from trainees at all times to the best of their abilities to… … be fully committed to the process - to reflect, share, experience and participate in all activities … keep a clear mind, that is neither intoxicated nor distracted … have taken care of important personal and professional matters beforehand, so that these do not intervene with the Training Course (please, be completely present with the group during the whole learning process!) … be on time for all of the deadlines, sessions and appointments … challenge themselves to step out of their comfort zones … be willing to look into themselves and reflect on their professional and private life … join us on an intensive, immersive and unforgettable journey Do you really strongly feel to attend this TC? Please read very carefully: This project is NOT a youth exchange but is meant as a serious and intrinsic training course with a strict designed learning flow. This journey stands and falls with the motivation and active contribution of ALL participants. This project can only be a success by you and your involvement with a serious approach. Only then we are able to create the stimulating atmosphere to go on an intensive, personal and emotional learning journey where we explore identity and discover variated views on this topic. If you want to come to Greece for other reasons than the learning process – maybe because you’ve never been here before and this TC is a great opportunity for you for tourism – we would like to ask you kindly to find another project in Greece. This project can only be a success if all of us - trainers, supportive persons, but in the first place you, our dear participants - are completely with us in the learning process. That’s why we also want to emphasis to our partners to invite participants from 25 years or older. We know by experience that young persons will appreciate this TC, but for persons with more ‘personal luggage’ this TC can be a life-changing experience in a key moment in their lifes. Please, consider this training course as an investment in your personal as well professional life. We all are deeply grateful to take this in consideration. 5 (Provisional) Flow From Now On Greece, 12 – 19/09/2021 Day 1 Day 2 Day 3 Day 4 Day 5 Day 6 Day 7 12/09 13/09 14/09 15/09 16/09 17/09 18/09 Theme Welcome Get to know Your Vulnerability Curiosity Resilience Future of day each other Identity 8.15- Breakfast Breakfast Breakfast Breakfast Breakfast Breakfast 9.15 9.30- Arrival of Introduction Silence Caring Curiosity Resilience Erasmus+ 11.00 participan and framing ts 11.00- Coffee break Coffee Coffee break Coffee
