The meeting is listed every month in the Village Post Office window, on the Notice Board at the Recreation Ground, and in Odsey near the station. Brief notes on agenda items from the Parish Council Meeting on Monday June 10th are included below: County Councillor Mr S Kindersley – reported that the A428 upgrade and rerouting plans have been released for consultation. There is still no sign that Herts CC will fund any improvements to the junctions on the A505. South Camb. C. are to clamp down on any empty properties which have been empty for 5 years, by claiming full council tax. The East/West rail project has been declared by a QC as a flawed consultation procedure. A505 – It was decided following Cllr Kindersley’s comments to send a letter to Herts CC & the MP Oliver Heald listing the villages’ concerns over the lack of action by Herts CC. Station Car Park Update – a meeting was held with the residents of Odsey and Mr J Fordham. Mr Fordham has offered some land adjacent to Cheyney Lodge to be used as a car park. Mr Fordham was thought to be in talks with car park planners. A letter is to be sent to Mr Fordham and Omnia to ascertain the state of play. Traffic – Another MVAS has been ordered. The one recently on Ashwell Road has now been moved to Litlington Road. Many people have commented on the ‘smiley face’ and how they appreciate knowing what speed they are actually doing. An offer of cones to the Primary School has been taken up by the caretaker – these will have No Waiting signs attached. A request for police support concerning parking around the school has been made. Recreation Ground and Conservation Area- The abandoned car has had a 21 day notice served otherwise it will be removed by the Council. Grass matting has been put in front of the ‘practice goal’ near the play area. The RosSPA Report on the play area pointed out various amendments and repairs – many of which were already in the process of being completed. They did point out that the confers needed to be cut back on the far side as they were interfering with the zip-wire and the swings. Two new dog signs have been requested. The dog handlers are to be asked NOT to use the Conservation Area for their training as the flora and grasses have been damaged. Footpaths- the footpath on Craft Way has been referred to the South Cambs C for further trimming. Any other business – due to the resignation of a Committee Member the Parish Council will be issuing a notice to co-op another committee member. o Dog Bin – a dog bin was requested for Bogs Gap Lane. o Security Cameras – the Village Hall cameras are in need of servicing. o Smarties – a letter is to be sent to Smarties concerning the clothing bin sited in the car park of the recreation ground. o Next Blue Grass Concert – will be held on July 19th and 20th. 2020. 3 Planning/Tree work Applications 12.1.1 Planning Ref S/1167/19/LB Flecks Lane Farm, Shingay Road –Render replacement/repair of property. APPROVED 12.1.2 Planning Ref S/1444/19/FL 5 The Green –Demolition of existing single storey side extension and replace with two storey side extension and single storey extension to the rear.
