The SOMC Development Foundation encompasses fundraising efforts for the Hospice Caritas Fund, Cancer Compassion Fund, Breast Cancer Compassion Fund, Employee Relief Fund, Heart & Vascular Fund, Pediatric Fund, Community Health and Wellness Fund, SOMC Endowment Fund, Jim and Clara Donaldson Scholarship Fund, Juvenile Diabetes Fund and the Annual Fund which covers the areas of greatest need. These funds generate much needed support and enable SOMC to continually deliver extraordinary care for future generations. We’re here to make a difference in our community. Our goal is to help provide much needed resources that will help sustain the health care needs of our community members. We engage in fundraising efforts to help support initiatives throughout SOMC and our community. This support ranges from the purchase of new equipment & technology to upgrading facilities as well as other community projects that address our community’s health and wellness needs. They achieved their goal in FY 2017, raising $95,209.25 as part of their effort to advance the mission of SOMC. The women and men of SOMC’s guilds are truly extraordinary individuals and make such a difference for the patients, families and staff of Southern Ohio Medical Center. This year, the support of the Guilds allowed SOMC to purchase items, such as heart care equipment for both patient care and staff needs, breast pumps for Maternity and donations toward the SOMC Cancer Compassion Fund, Pediatric Nursery and SOMC Hospice Center. SOMC is supported by a total of six guilds: the Hope Guild, the Kardia Guild, the Pleasure Guild, the Scioto Guild, the Service Guild and the Pediatric Guild.
