This will include both existing issues, and those Question / Instruction associated with any future development in the area. WHAT DO YOU CONSIDER THE MOST IMPORTANT ISSUES REGARDING TRANSPORT AND TRAFFIC? Total Comments 33 COMMENTS Reduce HGV traffic. Bus link to Barrow – Yes Please. Main road traffic too heavy – infrastructure inadequate. Better signs to slow traffic entering village on B676 – both ways. Enforce Speed Limits. Must be 20 mph. Bus link to Barrow for shops and doctors. If possible it would be better for the huge lorries to use a different route. Parking at the Village hall is a major issue. And for parents who need to drop off/attend events at the school. Buses to Barrow and East Leake would be good. Traffic calming on Wymeswold Road in Hoton. The bus service from Burton on the Wolds is too expensive. Why does it cost the same to travel all the way from Melton to Loughborough as from Burton on the Wolds? Can you look at reducing the fares please? Bus link to Barrow upon Soar for shops & Doctors. Buses running in and out of Loughborough at later times even if not many of them. Bus Link to Barrow upon Soar please? Agree with above. Route for HGvs through village is unsuitable – especially at roundabout. Parking in the village is inadequate. Residents rely on cars in rural areas and new developments should provide adequate, not minimal spaces. Would be great to remove HGVs from village roads. Alternative route for largest of the lorries – They have been known to get stuck round the roundabout and hold up traffic for long periods while they sort it out! Volume and size of traffic very problematic. Pavements too narrow and walking dangerous. Accessing service centres without a car virtually impossible. Please reduce number of road signs??? and amount of street furniture in village Bus link to Barrow upon Soar – Doctors, Shops, School. Rail connections PLEASE Proposed new Jelson development needs different access onto the main road – at least a roundabout preferably light controlled. Prohibit HGVs over 30 tonnes absolutely. No HGVs at weekends. Put People First Too many HGVs in village for such small roads. Particularly causes problems on the roundabout. Traffic from the proposed Jelson development too great for the main road. Even with a roundabout or lights movement on the roads will be HELL at rush hour. RCC (Leics and Rutland), Community House, 133 Loughborough Road, Leicester, LE4 5LQ. www.ruralcc.org.uk 8 Adequate parking at all properties to get parked cars off the road. Bus service to Barrow upon Soar, (Doctors) Leicester, Quorn A60 bypass for Hoton. Serious concerns with regard to proposals as part of development Cotes. The traffic backs up Loughborough Road at peak times and I can’t see how this could be sufficiently mitigated if such a large development goes ahead even the B676 is too busy at peak times and measures need to be taken to reduce the traffic - particularly HGVs Parking at the Village Hall is an issue as are HGVs especially on the roundabout. Proper calming on Barrow Road and B676 through the village. Traffic calming measures at all roads into Burton (Barkston as done this very effectively). Bus links to the service centre at Barrow upon Soar is needed. Also later buses from Loughborough. Loughborough Road, Burton on the Wolds. Congestion on B676 River crossing at Cotes RCC (Leics and Rutland), Community House, 133 Loughborough Road, Leicester, LE4 5LQ. www.ruralcc.org.uk 9 Important Green Spaces Please use the sticky dots provided to identify on the map any important green spaces that you value in the Parish Please place a BLUE dot on up to 3 green spaces that you value most for Leisure & Recreation (e.g. walking, cycling, Question / Instruction relaxing, playing, or sport). Please place a GREEN dot on up to 3 green spaces that you value most for their visual amenity (view of, from or within the village). Southfield Road, Loughborough, Leicestershire. LE11 2TN Ask for: Planning Policy Direct Line: 01509 634929 Email: [email protected] Date: 28th August 2019 Dear Sir/ Madam, THE WOLDS VILLAGES NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN PRE-EXAMINATION CONSULTATION Burton on the Wolds, Cotes and Prestwold Parish Council and Hoton Parish Council, through the Joint Neighbourhood Plan Committee, has prepared a Neighbourhood Plan for their parishes. In accordance with the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 (as amended) the Wolds Villages Neighbourhood Plan and supporting documents have been submitted to Charnwood Borough Council for the purpose of consultation, examination and, if appropriate, a referendum ahead of it being ‘made’ (adopted) as part of the local plan for the area. Charnwood Borough Council has considered the Plan against the statutory requirements set out in paragraph 6 of Schedule 4B of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 (as amended) and is satisfied that these have been met and it can proceed to consultation. This allows the Plan to be formally consulted upon for a period of 6 weeks from Wednesday 28th August to Wednesday 9th October 2019. Any representations that are made on the Plan will be forwarded to an independent Examiner who will then undertake an examination of the Wolds Villages Neighbourhood Plan. The Neighbourhood Plan and supporting documents are available for inspection at the following locations: Burton on the Wolds, Cotes and Prestwold Parish Council website at: https://www.burtoncotesprestwoldparishcouncil.org.uk/neighbourhood-plan.html Telephone: 01509 263151 Email: [email protected] Visit us at www.charnwood.gov.uk Leicestershire Communities website at: http://www.leicestershirecommunities.org.uk/np/the-wolds.html Burton on the Wolds, Cotes and Prestwold Parish Council Office, 7 St Andrews Close, Burton on the Wolds, Loughborough LE12 5TJ.

  • We Hope That Every Adult Will Take Part YOUR Opinion Counts Completed Questionnaires Will Be Collected in the Week Commencing 14
We hope that every adult will take part YOUR opinion counts Completed questionnaires will be collected in the week commencing 14 March 2016 Completed surveys returned by 21 March will be entered into a draw for a £100 prize! Dear Wolds Resident The parish councils of Hoton and Burton on the Wolds, Prestwold and Cotes are putting together a Neighbourhood Plan. In 2015 we held consultation events for residents and the ideas and views put forward at those events have been used when writing this questionnaire. The results of this survey will determine the underpinning principles and overall direction of our plan and so it is very important that you, your family and your neighbours take this opportunity to make your views known. What is Neighbourhood Planning? Neighbourhood Planning is a relatively new process, which has been designed to enable the local community to influence the planning and development of the area in which they live and work. Development does not just mean more houses; it includes planning for shops, businesses, transport and community facilities. Neighbourhood Planning enables people to shape the place in which they live their lives. What is the purpose of this survey? Finding out what people think and drawing on their skills and knowledge is an important part of developing a neighbourhood plan. We need your help to identify: If any new development is required and the most appropriate location for this The type and style of buildings that will best meet community needs Green spaces, buildings and areas that should be protected Any improvements or additions needed to local amenities, services and recreational facilities Improvements required to the public footpath, bus and road networks What will we do with the information we get from the questionnaire? The questionnaires will be analysed and the information gathered will enable us to write the Wolds Villages Neighbourhood Plan and formalise your views.
