VOLUME“Beat” 21 NUMBER“Beat” 2 SPRING 2007 MATT JONES PRAISES VOLUNTEERS DURING FSBGC AWARDS BANQUET NFL wide receiver Matt Jones was the featured guest at the 2007 FSBGC Awards Banquet on March 14. Jones is a former star quarterback for the Arkansas Razorbacks and was a Fort Smith Boys & Girls Club member while in elementary school. Jones was a first round draft pick of the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2005. Recipients who finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd received cash prizes in the two age divisions. All of the top finalists received certificates. This yearʼs theme was “If I could have three wishes, what would they be and why?” More than 100 entries were received for the competition. In goal-setting sessions, members set achievable “Know-I-Can” Goals, more challenging “Think- Evans Hailey Pitts Royce Clark Josh Nordin I-Can” Goals, and yearly “Believe-I-Can” goals.
