The presale will last for a few days only and is available for customers who subscribe to the company’s newsletter. The online booking store will gradually open for everyone as the brand-new sales system, based on new technology, is introduced.

“We are thrilled about the presale launch. Our sales solution is based on brand new technology and we have chosen to roll it out gradually to ensure that high demand does not prevent customers from booking a flight to their favorite destination. We guarantee that the same introductory offers will be available when we open up our online store to everyone,” said CEO Tonje Wikstrøm Frislid of Flyr.

Nearly 10,000 subscribe to the newsletters from Flyr; they will now receive an e-mail with information on how to book Flyr tickets.

The first flight takes off from Oslo to Tromsø on Wednesday June 30 at 11:35 CET. The following day, the first flights to Bodø and Harstad / Narvik depart. From August 16, flights from Oslo to Bergen and Trondheim commence, and from August 21, the first international flights to Alicante, Málaga and Nice will take off from Oslo.

“Colleagues and partners are impatiently waiting to get started. And we experience great interest from people who want to travel. We look forward to welcoming our guests on board on our first flight from Oslo to Tromsø and future trips with us across and Europe,” said Wikstrøm Frislid.

Flyr's first Boeing 737-800 aircraft will soon arrive, and the air operator’s certificate will be in place well before June 30. The company will expand the number of aircraft and destinations in line with market demand.

The company now has 67 employees, many with extensive aviation experience. By year-end the Flyr team will count 350 enthusiastic people.

“Monday May 31 will be a milestone in the history of Flyr, followed by the next milestone when we take off with our first flight a month later. Our goal is to make travelling easier for our guests, which for instance means that we will not overload anyone with additional charges and fees. We will for instance offer travel changes free of charge. And a bag is a bag when you travel with us, whether it’s a bag, a suitcase, a golf bag, or a pair of skis. We believe that our customer will appreciate this approach,” said Wikstrøm Frislid.
