Commercial Banking Training Program Many banks offer similar products and solutions, but few banks go about delivering them in a truly relationship-driven way and match the relentless focus that we have on our clients. CIBC provides you an opportunity in banking that allows you to get to know your clients, think creatively to meet their needs and become a valued advisor in their business. Our relationship managers spend their time going where their clients are, not behind a desk.

Associates who successfully complete the Commercial Banking Training Program will be placed within a banking team at the CIBC U.S. Region headquarters in . The program is ideal for those who are interested in career paths as a Commercial Banking Associate with a progression to relationship manager. Individuals in the program are full-time employees and are eligible for company benefits.

Program Overview Our Commercial Banking Training Program is designed to provide you with the skills you need throughout your professional career, including networking, team building and leadership. You will gain real-world experience working alongside seasoned relationship managers, as well as in-depth product knowledge in the areas of financing, treasury management, private wealth management, foreign exchange and derivatives.

This 18- to 24-month program at CIBC Bank USA includes classroom Requirements learning and practical application in four phases: yy College degree required and a minimum of two classes in accounting desired. Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred Classroom: Taught by CIBC professionals, as well as select industry and topic experts. Key subjects include accounting, finance, credit analysis, yy Detail-oriented business writing, financial modeling and relevant computer skills. yy Critical thinking and analytical abilities, combined with strong interpersonal skills Credit Pool: Practical experience in all lending groups across the bank, such as general commercial and industrial, commercial real yy Ability to work individually and within teams estate, healthcare, construction and engineering, asset-based yy Solid work ethic and a commitment to clients, other team lending, innovation, financial institutions, security alarm, members and the communities we serve and private banking. yy Must complete a writing sample Rotations: Up to three 90-day rotations that provide for complete immersion in select lending groups noted above.

Placement: Upon completion of the program, placement in a lending group is based on the needs of the bank, individual preference and mastery of program material.
