Help us plan for our parks Public notice pursuant to Section 31 of the Wilderness Protection Act 1992 The Department for Environment and Water is commencing the development of a management plan that will encompass the following wilderness protection areas: Cape Torrens Wilderness Protection Area Western River Wilderness Protection Area Ravine des Casoars Wilderness Protection Area Cape Bouguer Wilderness Protection Area Cape Gantheaume Wilderness Protection Area This management plan will establish a vision and consolidate management strategies for the wilderness protection areas, and will also include the national parks and conservation parks located in the west of Kangaroo Island – many of which are now recovering from bushfire. This plan will be developed with the community’s involvement. Members of the public are invited to make written submissions regarding matters that they think should be addressed in this management plan. All submissions received will be considered during the preparation of a draft management plan. The community will have an additional opportunity to make submissions after the draft management plan has been developed and released for public consultation.
