ACTOR JEFF DANIELS PLAYS FOR BAY VIEW AND LAKESIDE CHAUTAUQUA

BAY VIEW, MI -

Bay View Music Festival and Lakeside Chautauqua are excited to present Jeff Daniels on Thursday, June 25, 8:00 p.m. EDT. The sister Chautauquas have teamed up to produce this entertaining, intimate concert direct from Mr. Daniels home, which is then played by the ticket-buyer on any device with internet access. The concert is part of the Crouse Visiting Artist series, long a staple in northern .

Acclaimed and singer Jeff Daniels was raised in Chelsea, Michigan and would eventually attend Central Michigan University, where he participated in the theater program. He is a three-time Tony Award nominee, four-time Golden Globe nominee and Emmy Award winner, perhaps best known for his roles in such Hollywood movies as "D​ umb and Dumber,​" "T​he Martian,​" "S​teve Jobs,​" and "T​he Squid and the Whale"​. Recently, Mr. Daniels returned to Broadway to take on the iconic role of in 's new stage adaptation of the classic Harper Lee novel T​o Kill a Mockingbird,​ which began performances at the Shubert on November 1, 2018. He earned a third Tony Award nomination for his performance and remained with the production for an entire year, concluding his run on November 3, 2019.

With that impressive career, some would rest on their theatrical laurels, but Mr. Daniels moved back to Michigan, where he continues to invest in the artistic activities at home. Jeff Daniels has authored about 400 songs, played over 300 gigs the past 12 years from Maine to Alaska to California with his preferred venue of choice being clubs and hundred year old opera houses, drank from the fountain of youth by touring with his son’s band (the ​B​ en Daniels Band)​, and founded The Purple Rose Theatre Company in Chelsea.
