10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. IT'S ALL ABOUT STYLE - with PATRICK O’NEILL (School of Rock)

This class will focus on different choreographic styles present in the American Musical . It will explore the work of artists such as , Agnes DeMille, Jack Cole, Jerome Robbins and others, and will discuss ways for you to bring authenticity to your productions by honoring some of the original intent from these seminal choreographers. Led by Broadway dancer and choreographer Patrick O’Neill (Associate Choreographer for School of Rock), this workshop will help you look to the past for inspiration for your future productions!

Patrick O'Neill is currently the associate choreographer for Broadway's School of Rock. As a choreographer, he has staged concerts for Tony Award winner Kelly O'Hara at the Boston Pops and Mario Cantone on "," celebrating Barbara Walters and opening the show's 14th season. Other associate choreography includes 's Broadway bound musical, Harmony, Jerry Lewis and 's The Nutty Professor, and the revival of On A Clear Day You Can See Forever with Harry Connick, Jr. As a teacher, he has served on staff for both Britney Spears and Usher's performing arts intensives.

1:15 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. CAPTURING CREATIVITY: DANCE NOTATION - with (Scottsboro Boys, , Hair)

Discussion and demonstration of current methods for documenting staging and choreography for the stage. Explore both digital methods (Stage Write) and other methods utilized on Broadway musicals to capture creative work for the stage.

Jeff Whiting's Broadway credits include assistant director for the national tours of Hairspray and The Producers, assistant choreographer on the Broadway production of Young Frankenstein, Happiness at Lincoln Center, associate director/choreographer on The Scottsboro Boys, Hair, Big Fish, and Bullets Over Broadway. In addition to his work on Broadway, Whiting has directed numerous concerts including James Taylor at Carnegie Hall (with , , and ) and "A Tribute to " (co-hosted by and ). Opera credits include We Open In Paris at Glimmerglass Opera.

3:15 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. HOW TO BUILD A NUMBER ORGANICALLY - with CONNOR GALLAGHER (Beatlejuice, Robber Bridegroom, Tangled, Elf)

Work with Broadway choreographer Connor Gallagher to choreograph a number from the ground up! The best choreography doesn’t just string together steps randomly. Discover tips and techniques to unleash your creative ideas while maintaining the truth of character, and plot.

Connor Gallagher won the Astaire Award for his choreography for the Lortel winning revival of The Robber Bridegroom at the Roundabout Theatre Company. He is the choreographer for the forthcoming Broadway production of Beatlejuice for Warner Brothers Theatrical Ventures. He choreographed the first national tour of Elf the Musical, Tangled (Disney Cruise Lines), The Fabulous Lipitones at Goodspeed, Found at Theatre Company, The Twelve at Center, Camelot at Westport Playhouse, Spelling Bee at Bucks County Playhouse, and was the Associate Director/Choreographer for the Public Theatre/Shakespeare In The Park production of Into the Woods, starring . He is the Associate Choreographer for the National and International tours of Beauty and the Beast and is directing and choreographing the new production of Beauty and the Beast for Disney Cruise Lines. He is a graduate of the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music and began as a performer in the Broadway company of Beauty and the Beast.

Program Coordinators biographies:

Morgan Holbrook is a stage manager working in . Most recently, he was the Assistant Stage Manager on the Broadway revival of Six Degrees of Separation with . Other Broadway credits include The Cherry Orchard with Diane Lane, with Michelle Williams and Jeff Daniels, The Gin Game with and , and The Audience with . Morgan received a BFA in Stage Management from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Christopher Kee Anaya-Gorman Broadway: The Father with (Sub SM/PA), The Gin Game with James Earl Jones (PA). National Tours: Aladdin. NYC Credits: NY Fashion Week, On The Eve concert (Joe's Pub) and Orestes (New School Drama). Co-Artistic Directors’ biographies:

Gordon Greenberg directed the hit West End revival of Guys And Dolls, which was nominated for six Olivier Awards and played at both the Savoy Theatre and later the Phoenix Theatre, starring Rebel Wilson. He co-adapted ’s for Universal Stage Productions, which he directed on Broadway at Roundabout’s . It was nominated for Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards and was filmed for PBS. His stage adaptation of Disney’s Tangled is currently playing on Disney Cruise Lines. Other current projects include co-writing Emerald City Music Hall, a movie musical for Nickelodeon, The Heart Of Rock and Rolls for Huey Lewis Productions, The Secret of My Success for Universal Stage Productions, and Port Au Prince, a commission for The New Group. Other credits include writing an original movie musical, Scramble Band, for the Disney Channel, directing and revising the winning production of Studs Terkel's Working at 59 East 59, Broadway In Chicago (Jeff Award nomination), The Old Globe and Asolo, which he developed with Stephen Schwartz and Lin Manuel Miranda. He is a member of the Stage Directors & Choreographers Society and the Lincoln Center Directors Lab.

Pam Pariseau was most recently the Creative Development Director for Stage Entertainment (Anatasia, Rocky and Big Fish.) She has also served as Vice President of James Hammerstein Productions, a theatrical production company that works on and off-Broadway and in London’s West End, for the past decade. Broadway credits include Honeymoon in Vegas, Tracy Lett’s play Superior Donuts and The Seagull with Kristin Scott Thomas and Peter Saarsgard. West End productions include Dealer’s Choice, Sunday in the Park with George and Dirty Blonde (directed by James Lapine and featuring the original Broadway cast). Off- Broadway credits include Bat Boy The Musical (music and lyrics by Laurence O’Keefe), Slut, The Big Bang, My Name Is Rachel Corrie (directed by Alan Rickman) and Our Town. This production of Our Town has the distinction of being the longest-running professional production of Our Town in history and was the winner of the 2009 Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Revival and Outstanding Director. She has served as Creative Director of National Artists Management Company (producers of the Broadway production of CHICAGO), Casting Director and Literary Manager for Works (a developmental non-profit dedicated to new Musicals) and Artistic Director of the Helen Hays Performing Arts Center in Nyack, New York and the Chiswick Park Theatre in Sudbury, Massachusetts. She received the 2011 Distinguished Alumni Award from her alma mater, The Boston Conservatory. Along with Co-Director Gordon Greenberg, she founded the Broadway Teaching Group, a full service arts education program for theatre educators and students.
