Lobbying Your Bracknell Forest Councillors Lobbying your Bracknell Forest Councillors 27th February 2020 To lobby your Councillors on a matter such as the Draft Plan or a Jealott’s Hill type of issue, it is usually best to write to them either C/O the Council Offices in Time Square, Bracknell or by email to their email address, which we have provided a link to here on the site. Save Jealott’s Hill Campaign also recommends that you meet with your Councillors in person to ask questions or express any concerns about the Draft Plan or Jealott’s Hill. To obtain a meeting, you can take one of the following courses of action, which are ranked in order of most effective to least likely to be effective. 1. Write and ask for an appointment to meet. 2. Check with your Parish Council Office for their monthly surgery date and make a request for the Councillor/s for your ward to be there. 3. Just turn up at the Parish Council monthly Surgery and ask your Parish Councillor to lobby the Bracknell Forest Councillor/s for your ward. The Bracknell Forest wards most likely to be affected by the Jealott’s Hill proposal include: Warfield Harvest Ride, Binfield with Warfield, and Winkfield and Cranbourne. The contact details for each of these wards are listed below. You will also find details of monthly surgeries by Councillors where we have them, but we recommend you always double check beforehand with the Parish Council office, who are always unfailingly helpful, in our experience. Warfield Parish Council Parish Council Office is located at the Tesco Store on County Lane in the arcade of shops beside the Supermarket. Telephone: 01344 457 777 Email: [email protected] Details of Parish Council activities are available at http://warfieldparishcouncil.gov.uk/ The monthly surgery run by the Parish Council is held every month except August. The Surgery is held on 1st Saturday of the month between 10:00 and 12:00. This is a Warfield Parish Council Surgery which is normally attended by one or some of the ward’s Bracknell Forest Councillors. If you want to make sure there is at least one Bracknell Forest Councillor in attendance, then it is best for you to call the Parish Council office and say you want to see one of the Councillors there. Save Jealott’s Hill Campaign 1 | P a g e Warfield Parish Council rejected the Jealott’s Hill proposal at its meeting on 2nd December 2019 and called on Bracknell Forest Council to remove the proposal from the plan. Predictably that request was ignored by the Bracknell Forest Councillors including the Warfield elected Councillors. Your Bracknell Forest Councillors for Warfield Harvest Ride Ward are: Councillor Gareth Barnard Telephone: 01344 352 048. Email: [email protected] Councillor Sandra Ingram Telephone: 07889 573 087 Email: [email protected] Councillor Robert McLean Telephone: 07825 721 302 Email: [email protected] Binfield Parish Council The Council Office Benetfeld Road Binfield RG42 4EW Telephone: 01344 454 602 Email: [email protected] Details of Parish Council activities are available at https://www.binfieldparishcouncil.gov.uk/meetings The Councillors surgery is run monthly except in August and December on the 2nd Saturday of the month. If you are planning to attend it is advised to check in advance via the office or the website as we know April will be on the 1st Saturday. Your Bracknell Forest Councillors for Binfield are: Councillor Ankur Shiv Bhandari Telephone: 07827 664 287 Email: [email protected] Councillor John Harrison Telephone: 01344 456 363 Email: [email protected] Save Jealott’s Hill Campaign 2 | P a g e Councillor Ian Leake Telephone: 07801 648 402 Email: [email protected] Winkfield and Cranbourne Parish Council: The Winkfield and Cranbourne Parish Council offices are located at: Fernbank Road North Ascot SL5 8JW Telephone: 01344 885 110 Email: [email protected] Details of Parish Council activities are available at http://winkfieldparishcouncil.gov.uk/contact- us/ Council meetings are held generally on a Tuesday evening at Carnation Hall, Chavey Down Road, Winkfield RG42 7PA. The dates and times of meetings are available on the Winkfield PC website under the “Council” tab. Christina Gibson of the Parish Council informs us that Surgeries are held every second Tuesday at The Warfield Park Community Hall between 4:30 & 5:30. Apparently you need to book in advance by contacting the Councillors direct. Winkfield PC were a bit “on the fence” in their response to the 2019 Consultation. This information has either been taken from the online submission (primary source); the ER certificate; or information received by email and telephone conversations. 2019 was an Electoral Roll Revision year so it has therefore had an impact on the number of places some deaneries / parishes have been allocated. If you would like to query these figures you MUST provide evidence of your APCM figure in 2019 as accepted at your APCM. Regrettably not all parishes returned this information and therefore any parishes whereby the figures are shown in yellow, places have been calculated on an estimated basis and therefore may not reflect an accurate picture.
