Zhong Li, 25, of Rowland Heights, California, is named as the deceased in the Tennessee Highway Patrol report. He was the passenger in the crash. The driver of the tractor trailer, Franklin Zhang, 63, of Baldwin Park, California, was traveling westbound on I-40 when he failed to stay on the roadway, according to the report. “Vehicle one was traveling west bound on I-40 when the driver failed to maintain the lane and left the right side of the roadway,” the report states. “The vehicle struck the guardrail and came to a final rest on its top.” PAIGE STANAGE | HERALD-CITIZEN Zhang is cited for failing to maintain due care, the report states. INTRODUCTION “Black women and girls represent 30 percent of all women incarcerated but make up just 13 percent of the population. In addition, Black girls continue to be treated as criminals in the justice system in instances where they should be treated as victims.” The Congressional Caucus on Black Women & Girls1 *Professor Page has worked in the area of human trafficking (international and domestic) since 2005. She has spoken and taught internationally and domestically in Austria, China, Czech Republic, Greece and Turkey, to name a few. She has been a law professor since 2004 and currently works at Florida A&M University College of Law where she teaches, amongst other courses, Human Trafficking. Hoping to shed light on the subject and the scourge that is human trafficking, Professor Page co-authored a textbook entitled “Human Trafficking,“ with Professor Bill Piatt. Braxton Lee joins the Blue Crabs as the team’s first MLB veteran position player on the 2021 roster. The Mississippi native made his MLB debut with the Miami Marlins in 2018 after proving to be not only a reliable bat, but also a Sportcenter Top 10 defender. At Ole Miss, Lee led the Rebels to their first College World Series appearance in 47 years. In 2014, the left-handed hitter was selected in the 12th round of the MLB Draft by the Tampa Bay Rays. Lee had a breakout season in Double-A in 2017, which led to a mid-season trade to the Miami Marlins in exchange for Adeiny Hechavarria. He ended the 2017 season as the Double-A Southern League leader in batting average and hits. Dario Pizzano was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the 15th round of the 2012 MLB Draft. After two years at Columbia University, Pizzano played eight seasons and over 700 games in affiliated baseball, reaching as high as Triple-A. Pizzano led the Appalachian League in batting average (.356) in 2012 and was named a Post Season All-Star and MiLB.com Organization All-Star. After beginning the 2019 season with the New York Mets Double-A affiliate, Pizzano made the move to independent baseball, joining the former Blue Crabs foe, the Somerset Patriots.
