During his tour of Ay- eyawady Region, Vice Pres- ident U Hnery Van Thio vis- ited flood-affected people sheltering at temporary relief camps in Ngathaingchaung, Lay- myatnar, Hinthada, Zalun, Danu- byu and Nyaungdon and present- ed aid to them. The vice president also in- spected dams and dykes. The flooding hit nine- teen townships in the region, displacing more than 120,000 residents.
