KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 9 () -- The floods in Pulau Pinang have become worse over the years since DAP took over the state's administration in 2008, said UMNO Information chief Tan Sri Annuar Musa.

Ironically, he said the opposition party often boasted about how they were doing far better than (BN).

"If we go back to Dec 15, 2013, (we could see that) Chief Minister was so arrogant when he said that they (state government) could solve flood problems within a single term."

"So was Tanjong state assemblyman, Ng Wei Aik, who issued a statement in 2008 that they could do it in just nine months...but look at what is happening now," Annuar was quoted as saying in an article published by UMNO Online here today.

He said the issue of floods was not just the only proof that Penang had been a failed state under the DAP administration.

In fact, the recent landslide incident in Tanjung Bungah which claimed 11 lives was also one of the evidence that showed the state government's greed for development and profit, which only spelled disaster for the people, Annuar said.

"Guan Eng should be grateful that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and his deputy, Datuk Seri , have shown their big hearts by putting aside political differences for the sake of helping the people in the state.

"Such a trait was also emulated by all BN leaders and its machinery who came to help the flood victims. The people who have been degraded and despised by DAP are now providing assistance, and they are not even raking up the past," Annuar added.
