¯ Harmonica master Carey Bell recorded Matthew Skoller’s original composition, “Love Her, Don’t Shove Her,” on his album Good Luck Man for (1997). Legendary blues and boogie-woogie pianist, H-Bomb Ferguson, also recorded “Love Her, Don’t Shove Her” on his Earwig Records CD, Wiggin' Out (1993).

¯ In 1994, Skoller was chosen to create the music for the world premiere of August Wilson's play, “Seven Guitars,” at the Goodman Theatre in . After a sold-out run at the Goodman, Skoller was flown to Boston to craft additional music for The Huntington Theatre's run of “Seven Guitars.” The play went on to Broadway with Skoller's music as part of the score. Ruben Santiago-Hudson won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor. Skoller was his harmonica coach for the production.
