An introduction to School buses and concessionary fares for students in Greater Manchester Passengers can pay a fare to the driver for each journey shown on this timetable. However, students will need to show an IGO pass to travel at the concessionary (reduced) fare. If students do not have an IGO pass, they will have to pay a higher fare. Most of the journeys shown in this timetable are funded by Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM). The majority of TfGM funded services charge a standard fare and also offer daily return tickets. In some cases, the return ticket can also be used for travel on other journeys which serve similar areas – even if it is provided by a different operator. On most services, students can also buy a weekly scholar’s ticket, which costs £7.40. These are ONLY valid on schooldays on school buses and are available from the bus driver on all services where they are applicable. To help the driver, please try to have the correct fare when buying your ticket. A summary of fares and ticketing information on all school services included in this timetable can be found at https://www.tfgm.com/tickets-and-passes/bus-school-bus-services There are also a small number of TfGM funded services where the operator sets the fares. You will need to check with the operator what fares are available. Yellow School Buses This timetable also shows the journeys operated by Yellow School Buses. Yellow School Bus journeys have special travel conditions and can only be used by students who hold a Yellow School Bus pass which is valid for that journey. Students who wish to use a Yellow School Bus should go to https://www.tfgm.com/tickets-and-passes/bus-yellow-school-buses for details on how to apply for a pass. The IGO Pass All students between the ages of 11 and 16 need an IGO pass if they wish to travel at the concessionary (reduced fare) rate on buses. The IGO pass is like an ID card and proves that the student is aged 16 or under. It must be carried on all journeys and shown to the driver before paying the fare. The IGO pass costs £10 and can only be bought by students who live, or go to school in Greater Manchester. Introduction District centres are of vital importance for Stockport’s residents and play a central part of civic life across the Borough. In order to better support these district centres, the Council has begun a partnership with the Institute of Place Management (IPM) based at Manchester Metropolitan University, which is internationally recognised for its work in understanding how places function ad supporting their success. The project will support the joint Communities & Housing and Economy & Regeneration Scrutiny Review into District Centres and help develop a long-term strategy for Stockport’s district centres that is rigorous, deliverable, and based upon the latest objective evidence. This work will, in turn, have a measurable impact upon the sustainability and liveability of Stockport's existing centres as places that serve the needs of their catchment communities, and support thriving, relevant, and accessible district centres across Stockport. Each of the eight district centres has unique characteristics, as well as its own strengths and challenges.

    The South East Manchester Multi-Modal Strategy (SEMMMS)

    1. BACKGROUND The South East Manchester Multi-Modal Strategy (SEMMMS) is a 20 year transport strategy covering an area to the south east of Manchester including parts of Cheshire East, Derbyshire, Stockport and Tameside local authority areas. The SEMMMS Relief Road, M60 to Manchester Airport is a major part of the Strategy and in 2003/2004 two rounds of consultation were undertaken on the principles of the road and junction options for the full Scheme. In 2008 the Government announced the offer of £165 million to partially fund a 10km section of the road – the A6 to Manchester Airport Relief Road. The remainder of the funding has been identified by the Greater Manchester Transport Fund using the Greater Manchester Earn Back Model. The Earn Back Model was announced as part of the City Deal for Manchester during the March 2012 budget. The SEMMMS A6 to Manchester Airport Relief Road was identified as a priority Scheme for Greater Manchester and, subject to the approval of the Combined Authority, is one of two Schemes to be funded as part of the first phase of the Earn Back funding regime. The following additional Schemes, which are not funded as part of the A6 to Manchester Airport Relief Road, are still a priority for funding and delivery: • A6 Hazel Grove to M60 Bredbury • A523 Poynton bypass • Stepping Hill Link Road Following the Earn Back funding announcement, a new round of consultation took place, the first phase being held between the 22nd October 2012 and the 25th January 2013. The results of this are currently being analysed and a second phase of consultation is programmed for June 2013, which will ask for opinions on the emerging preferred scheme.

    Application No : 13/3455M Location: Land to the south of Stockport, adjacent to and between the A6 (Buxton Road) and land to the east of the Styal railway line, north of Styal Golf Course. Proposal: Construction of the A6 to Manchester Airport Relief Road (whole route), incorporating: • Seven new road junctions; • Modification to four existing road junctions; • Four new rail bridge crossings; • Three new public rights of way/accommodation bridges; • Four new road bridges; • A pedestrian & cycle route; • Six balancing ponds; and • Associated landscaping, lighting and infrastructure works. Within Cheshire East: • modifications to one existing road junction; • two new public rights of way/accommodation bridges; • one new road bridge; • a pedestrian and cycle route for the whole length of the relief road, including retrofitting it to the existing section of the A555; • one balancing pond for drainage purposes; and • associated landscaping, lighting, engineering and infrastructure works. Applicant: Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council, Cheshire East Borough Council & Manchester City Council Expiry Date: 24/02/2014 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Planning permission is sought to construct a new dual carriageway from the A6 near to Hazel Grove (south east Stockport) to Manchester Airport and the link road to the M56. The application spans three Authority boundaries, namely Stockport MBC, Cheshire East Council and Manchester City Council, and as such, a detailed planning application has been submitted to the three authorities for determination of the scheme which falls within each of the Authority boundaries. This report covers in detail the proposed scheme which falls within Cheshire East. It is considered important that all decision makers are fully furnished with the whole proposed scheme and relevant facts pertaining to it, the report therefore also covers details outside of the Cheshire East boundary.

Although provided primarily for school students, members of the public may use these services with the exception of Yellow School Buses. Services are listed alphabetically under school names. 07/09/2018 Stockport Schools 2018/2019 Page 1 An introduction to School buses and concessionary fares for students in Greater Manchester Passengers can pay a fare to the driver for each journey shown on this timetable. However, students will need to show an IGO pass to travel at the concessionary (reduced) fare. If students do not have an IGO pass, they will have to pay a higher fare. Most of the journeys shown in this timetable are funded by Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM). The majority of TfGM funded services charge a standard fare and also offer daily return tickets. In some cases, the return ticket can also be used for travel on other journeys which serve similar areas – even if it is provided by a different operator. On most services, students can also buy a weekly scholar’s ticket, which costs £7.30. These are ONLY valid on schooldays on school buses and are available from the bus driver on all services where they are applicable. To help the driver, please try to have the correct fare when buying your ticket.
