De neutronenbom was eind jaren zeventig het schrikbeeld van de No Fu- ture-generatie: een bom die de meeste gebouwen en andere infrastructuur intact liet, maar wel alle levende wezens doodde; die bom is gelukkig nooit echt in productie genomen.

They petitioned for gender equality, disability rights, LGBTQI+ rights, abortion rights, ecofeminism, and against the repression of Turkish women.

On March 8th, it was wonderful and energizing to see the international support for the many fights against violent and exclusionary practices that are constantly undermining women around the world. The current Corona crisis is re-shaping our society, and in the meanwhile, many women are confined in their homes where they are daily violated. Perhaps, with the march as an example in our heads, women and men across the globe should think about those excluded others that are in need, who’s lucky should think about who is not. After all, solidarity should be key to re-build the society that will carry on all those fights for equity that lie ahead of us.

Feminism “started” with the suffrage movement at the dawn of the 19th century. Since then, many battles have been fought and won, especially in the First World. How- ever, in other parts of the world women are still fighting for basic human rights. There are still many ahead of us, to create a world where everyone has real and equal op- portunities to benefit from society, regardless of his/her/ their colour, sex, body, ideas, culture, or fashion choices.
