Greater Essex: Bereavement Support in the Community Community and Faith Bereavement Support Directory, Greater Essex Community and Faith Bereavement Support Many people in Essex, Southend and Thurrock will sadly experience bereavement, grief and loss during the corona virus pandemic. Measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19 may increase the emotional impact of losing somebody, whether as a result of the virus or not. Bereaved people may feel more isolated and cut off from support networks. It is important that family, friends and communities seeking support at this time are able to talk to somebody they trust who will listen, empathise and point them to professional advice where necessary. There are many online sources of trusted information and support in relation to bereavement and a number of these can be found by following the link below. For those that require more structured support we suggest you contact your GP but the link below also includes details of the Hospices across Greater Essex who provide clinical bereavement support. The Hospice teams will talk to you about your bereavement and help to identify the right source of support. essex.gov.uk/coronavirus-and-faith/bereavement-support In response to the expected increase in demand for general support for bereavement, Essex County Council have worked with Faith group, voluntary and community sector partners to create a directory of local contacts in the community who can provide a listening ear and help to signpost you to other support. We are grateful to all those people who have come forward to offer this network of support. All the contacts who have offered to provide emotional and wellbeing support have shared some key principles. These include providing someone to listen and signpost, to encourage onward referral to a GP and to apply their own organisational procedures in relation to safeguarding and GDPR (data protection). 1 How the information is presented Support across Greater Essex is listed by Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) area to make it easier for you to find the nearest source of support in your community Please share this information Please share this information with anybody that you think will benefit from it including people who access your services or reach out to you for support. This PDF document is also available online at essex.gov.uk/coronavirus-and-faith/bereavement-support Can your organisation provide support? • Rawreth Parish Plan
Parish Plan Contents This Parish Plan follows the 412 Introduction 1 responses in the Appraisal Analysis For those new to the Village circulated in December 2002 and the The Parish Plan comments from the 82 participants in the 3 Parish Workshop last June. We have taken Traffic and Transport the major items of concern and included Community and Facilities 4 them in the proposed action plan. School 5 We have tried to identify who is Economy and Business 6 responsible for each item and the progress Built Environment 6 achieved in the intervening time period. Some you will notice have already been Natural Environment 7 dealt with and others will take a little Leisure 7 longer! Action Plan 8 Remember this is your plan; it has been The Future 9 developed by your representatives and requires your continued support to bring it References 10 to fruition. Rawreth Introduction awreth can best be described as a group of settlements in the District of Rochford in the County of Essex. It is R described as: “a wedge of green on the edge of the District, forming a significant barrier of countryside between Rayleigh and Basildon. The community, although small in number, is great in achievement and spirit, with amenities such as the Village Hall used to the full.” (RDC Guide, p 19). This 1128-hectare (2788 acre) wedge of green belt land is naturally predominately agricultural and horticultural. The soil is generally low quality, grade 2a & 2b with much grade 3. The area includes part of a Coastal Protection Belt and a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

  • The History of Witham Monthly Meeting 1647 – 1953 1
THE HISTORY OF WITHAM MONTHLY MEETING 1647 – 1953 1 The story of Quakerism in this district goes back to the days of George Fox; there is an entry in his Journal to the effect that when he visited Chelmsford all the Quakers were in prison. The records of births dates from 1647 – one of the earliest in the country – and apart from about 70 years covering the end of the last century to 1922, the records cover nearly 300 years. It is a very mixed story, very human as well as revealing the life of a small community against the background of a changing England – we realise this when we remember that we are thinking of Quakers who were alive in this district in the Civil War, as well as those who saw the industrial revolution. In 1672, when the Witham Monthly Meeting minutes commence, Charles II was on the throne, John Milton was alive and the Acts of Toleration had not been passed. In the Essex Record Office there are volumes of minutes covering the years 1672/1850, and some later ones are still in the hands of Friends. Among records of Births, Marriages and Deaths mention is made of Quakers born in 1616 thus we are in touch with those living in the days of James I, and the year that Shakespeare died. The first recorded Monthly Meeting was at Heybridge on the 9 th . of 4 th .month 1672 2 and contains applications for marriage; the first Monthly Meeting at Witham so far as the records go, was on the 10 th .

Have Your Say! Dr Andrea Fejős and Professor Christopher Willett attended and, with the permission of the Chairman, addressed the meeting to ask that proposed Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) T29664816 [Manor Road, Colchester] be approved. Although the TRO had been recommended for rejection by Colchester Borough Council, due to lack of local support, Dr Fejős argued that the Committee could still approve it. The TRO had been requested by Dr Fejős and Professor Willett in order to stop vehicles parking in front of a flat’s front window which they noted was the only alternative exit/fire escape for the property. It would prevent such parking and involve moving the parking space to further along the road, on the opposite side of the road.

We have identified a requirement to provide appropriate signage at key locations to explain the importance of these habitats, to encourage people to stay England Coast Path | Maldon to Salcott | Natural England’s Proposals on the trail and to keep dogs under effective control in preventing disturbance to wildlife.

  • 1 Finding Wroth's Loughton Hall SUSIE WEST the Open University
View metadata, citation and similar papers at core.ac.uk brought to you by CORE provided by Open Research Online Finding Wroth’s Loughton Hall SUSIE WEST The Open University Lady Mary Sidney Wroth, daughter of Penshurst Place, Kent, made her marital home at Loughton Hall, Essex, and remained there as a widow until her own death in 1651.1 The house was burnt down in 1836, and little is known of its appearance or history. This is a loss in two major respects. Firstly, as the home of a major literary figure whose work draws heavily on her life, we might expect that the home environment she created was both shaped by and informed her evocation of place and space in her work. This is not to suggest that literary work can be read back into the built environment, but Loughton Hall should take its place amongst the houses within the Sidney circle: Penshurst Place, Wilton House and Houghton Conquest House, for example. There is more to say about its landscape setting. Secondly, Wroth had a role in remodeling the old house, and there is a tantalizing but unproven association with Inigo Jones, known to Wroth from the Court. This provides the second theme for this discussion, the Court and the classical tradition in architecture. The early decades of the seventeenth century in England are distinguished by what might be called a ‘classical turn’ in building, in the form of heightened awareness of and interest in the theory and practice of architecture as inherited from Italy and a Roman past.
