Holohan vs. Smolka New Main Event for UFC Fight Night Dublin Live Sat., Oct. 24 at 4 p.m. ET on Fight Network Toronto – Following a late main event change due to injury, Fight Network’s live UFC Fight Night™ telecast on Saturday, October 24 from 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland will now be headlined by a flyweight showdown between Ireland’s own Paddy “The Hooligan” Holohan (12-1-1) and American Louis “Da Last Samurai” Samurai (9-1). Fight Network will air the live UFC Fight Night™: Holohan vs. Smolka main card exclusively in Canada from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. ET. The event will be replayed in its entirety in primetime at 9 p.m. ET and again at 10 p.m. PT for viewers on the West Coast. In the main event, Holohan takes on Smolka in a clash of fiery flyweight contenders. In other featured bouts, Northern Ireland’s Norman Parke (21-4-1) welcomes Iranian-born Swedish lightweight Reza “Mad Dog” Madadi (13-3) back to the octagon, Denmark’s Nicolas “Sharpshooter” Dalby (14-0) meets England’s Darren Till (13-0) in a showcase of undefeated welterweight prospects, plus Irish flyweight veteran Neil Seery (15-11) battles Guam native Jon Delos Reyes (8-4). Tonight, Thursday, Oct. 22 at Midnight ET, Fight Network premieres a one-hour UFC® Fight Night Dublin Pre-Show, which features previews, predictions and analysis for the event, and also serves as a lead-in to the live main card. Studien applicerar två teoretiska perspektiv för att undersöka detta, gestaltningsteorin och moralpanik. Genom en kvantitativ innehållsanalys kombinerat med gestaltningsanalys analyseras ett urval artiklar i från några av de största nyhetsmedierna i Sverige, Aftonbladet, Expressen och SVT Nyheter samt två MMA inriktade nyhetsmedier, Kimura och MMANytt. Detta görs för att undersöka hur olika sorters nyhetsmedier skildrar MMA och på så vis se skillnader och likheter för att skapa en helhetsbild av problemet. Resultatet visar att sporten har växt och blivit mer legitim de senaste åren jämfört med tidigare studier. At the same time the sport receives a lot of criticism for its violent nature. This essay examines why and how MMA has gained popularity in contemporary Sweden. To answer these questions, it is important to look at the different actors within the field of MMA in Sweden, the fighter, the promoters and the spectators. I will examine how these each by themselves and by interplay contribute to the popularity of MMA. I conclude that there are several different reasons to the gained popularity of MMA and these are dependent on the various actors, the fighter, the promoter and the spectator where they each contribute in their own way.
