Beef Stew VI This is good eaten from a bowl or poured over biscuits! Ingredients: • 2 pounds cubed beef stew meat • 3 large potatoes, peeled and cubed • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil • 4 carrots, cut into 1 inch pieces • 4 cubes beef bouillon, crumbled • 4 stalks celery, cut into 1 inch pieces • 4 cups water • 1 large onion, chopped • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary • 2 teaspoons cornstarch • 1 teaspoon dried parsley • 2 teaspoons cold water • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

Directions: In a large pot or dutch oven, cook beef in oil over medium heat until brown. Dissolve bouillon in water and pour into pot. Stir in rosemary, parsley and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover and simmer 1 hour. Stir potatoes, carrots, celery, and onion into the pot. Dissolve cornstarch in 2 teaspoons cold water and stir into stew. Cover and simmer 1 hour more.

Apple Crisp II A simple dessert that's great served with ice cream!

Ingredients: • 10 cups all-purpose apples, • 1 cup quick-cooking oats peeled, cored and sliced • 1 cup all-purpose flour • 1 cup white sugar • 1 cup packed brown sugar • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda • 1/2 cup water • 1/2 cup butter, melted

Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degree C). Place the sliced apples in a 9x13 inch pan. Mix the white sugar, 1 tablespoon flour and ground cinnamon together, and sprinkle over apples. Pour water evenly over all. Combine the oats, 1 cup flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda and melted butter together. Crumble evenly over the apple mixture. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for about 45 minutes.
