In addition to the amount annually available from the endowed fund the NMFN group contributes another $500 each year. These two amounts are combined and awarded to a student. $1000 has already been contributed to the endowment in 2017. Our goal in 2017 is to raise another $1000 each for the NMFN Scholarship and NMFN Legends Scholarship. The winner of the 2017 NMFN Scholarship has not been provided to NMFN. The rules for the NMFN Scholarship are as follows: The recipient of the scholarship is determined by the Admissions Office (not NMFN). It is awarded to a full time undergraduate at any campus, preference given to incoming freshman, must maintain 2.75 or above GPA, preference given to graduate of NM high schools, high academic standing shall be a criterion when making award. There are no limits on how many times a student may receive the scholarship. NMFN Legends Scholarship Program NMFN initiated a new scholarship called the Legends Scholarship three years ago. NMFN contributed $1000 to the scholarship which will be matched by the Office of the Chancellor making the scholarship award to the student $2000. The rules for the NMFN Legends Scholarship are as follows: To qualify for this scholarship the student may pursue any degree major at UNL, must be an incoming freshman, shall have a permanent address in New Mexico and shall have demonstrated high academic achievement. The scholarship award is determined by the Systems Scholarship Committee at Univ. of Neb and not NMFN. In addition to receiving the Legends Scholarship the student receives support to find academic success, make friends, and become engaged in campus life. Students attend exclusive Nebraska Legends Scholars events, meet regularly, one-on-one, with the program coordinator and receive a one year membership in the UNL Student Alumni Association. Funding for this scholarship is on a year by year basis and your support for our raffles and your membership dues make it possible for NMFN to continue this scholarship each year. ABSTRACT The Missouri River, bordering Nebraska, has previously been reported to be uninhabitable for unionid mollusks. Studies conducted in the Missouri River and its backwaters, primarily during 1981 and 1982. revealed the presence of thirteen species and subspecies of unionid mollusks. The apparent absence of any extensive prior unionid work in the Missouri River may explain the discrepancy between this and previous literature. little has been written on the unionid fauna of the general understanding of the species present. The area Missouri River in general, and almost nothing on that portion selected for the survey extends from Santee, Nebraska to the of the river bordering Nebraska. (Slip Opinion) OCTOBER TERM, 2014 1 Syllabus NOTE: Where it is feasible, a syllabus (headnote) will be released, as is being done in connection with this case, at the time the opinion is issued. The syllabus constitutes no part of the opinion of the Court but has been prepared by the Reporter of Decisions for the convenience of the reader. See United States v. Detroit Timber & Lumber Co., 200 U. S. 321, 337. SUPREME COURT OF THE UNITED STATES Syllabus KANSAS v. NEBRASKA ET AL. ON EXCEPTIONS TO REPORT OF SPECIAL MASTER No. 126, Orig. Argued October 14, 2014—Decided February 24, 2015 In 1943, Congress approved the Republican River Compact, an agree- ment between Kansas, Nebraska, and Colorado to apportion the “vir- gin water originating in” the Republican River Basin. 57 Stat. 87. In 1998, Kansas filed an original action in this Court contending that Nebraska’s increased groundwater pumping was subject to regula- tion by the Compact to the extent that it depleted stream flow in the Basin. This Court agreed. Ensuing negotiations resulted in the 2002 Final Settlement Stipulation (Settlement), which established mecha- nisms to accurately measure water and promote compliance with the Compact. The Settlement identified the Accounting Procedures, a technical appendix, as the tool by which the States would measure stream flow depletion, and thus consumption, due to groundwater pumping. The Settlement also reaffirmed that “imported water”— that is, water brought into the Basin by human activity—would not count toward a State’s consumption. Again, the Accounting Proce- dures were to measure, so as to exclude, that water flow.

100 2017-18 NEBRASKA WOMEN'S BASKETBALL NEBRASKA'S BIG TEN HISTORY Although Nebraska competed for the first time as a member of the Big Ten Conference in 2011-12, the Huskers have a relatively substantial history playing against Big Ten opponents. Nebraska's first-ever meeting with a Big Ten school came with a thrilling 68-67 overtime victory over Minnesota on Dec. 30, 1977. Two weeks later, the Huskers improved to 2-0 against the Big Ten with a 71-63 victory over Iowa at the Jennies Classic in Warrensburg, Mo., on Jan. 13, 1978. The following season, Nebraska improved to 3-0 against the Big Ten with a narrow 59-57 victory over Minnesota at the Devaney Center on Nov. 28, 1978. Overall, the Huskers carry an 88-78 all-time record against Big Ten opposition after their first six seasons of Big Ten Conference competition. Nebraska is 64-49 against Big Ten foes in its first six seasons in the conference, including 56-44 in Big Ten regular-season play. The Huskers captured the 2014 Big Ten Tournament title by going 3-0 in Indianapolis. The Huskers are 8-5 all-time in the Big Ten Tournament and 6-3 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
