FEDORA PRIZES 2019 FEDORA The European Circle of Philanthropists of Opera and Ballet The Teatro La Fenice since the dawn of its history has always been the quintessential place of modernity, exploring new styles in every age, with World Premieres of many Operas that keep being very important over time. For this reason we are therefore delighted to host the 5th edition of the FEDORA Prizes Award Ceremony. We wish to welcome international artists, opera and ballet professionals and donors in Venice. Today, we are celebrating together excellence, innovation and artistic collaboration in the field of opera and ballet. This special occasion shows how essential it is to sustain our joint European cultural heritage. By supporting promising artistic projects created by experienced and emerging artists we can contribute to moving these art forms forward. This event is organized on the occasion of the performance of Don Giovanni by W. A. Mozart, conducted by Jonathan Webb and staged by Damiano Michieletto, one of the most interesting representatives of the younger generation of Italian directors. On behalf of Teatro La Fenice, I would like to welcome you all and wish you a memorable evening at our theatre.
