Let’s start off with gracious, friendly Evelyn Fox- Artz. Evie was born April 3, 1943, in Bethesda, MD. Her father Warner Bogley was employed at the Union Station, Washington, DC and her mother, Vivian was a stay at home Mom caring for house and five daughters. When the girls were grown, she worked for the school district as a Police crossing guard. Evie has four sisters and is the youngest. She attended the Montgomery County Schools in MD. The year 1958, she married Charles Fox. They were married 50 years until his passing in 2017. They shared four children, eleven grandchildren, and eleven great-grand children. Forty years into this first marriage, Evie earned her CED diploma. Congratula- tions. She was employed for thirty years in Onley MD Nursing Homes. She was Kitchen Supervisor for 25 years and continuing on for 5 more years as the Activities Director. This busy lady for 5 years also man- aged her own Transportation Bus Company business for the elderly. Some of her favorites are the colors lavender and yellow; enjoying potato chips and dip while watching the TV program Legal Weapon and any feature staring Tom Selleck; movies White Christmas and On Golden Pond. Her favorite restaurant is Rudy’s in Harrington and fried chicken. She takes a great deal of pleasure with her three-day vacations during the year. Evie loves playing the piano, crocheting, and crafts. She is especially fond of wreath- making. She is an active member of the Sussex Central Seventh Day Adventist Church in Georgetown, DE where she is chairwoman for the Music Department and serves on the Community Service Committee. Robert Artz, Jr. was born April 25, 1938, in Pittsburgh, PA to Robert and Dorothy Artz. His father was a city fireman, he has one brother. Bob’s education was within the Pittsburgh School District, graduating from David B Oliver High School. He served in the US Navy; retired after 20 years working at the Jones and Laughlin Steel Corporation in Hazelwood, PA. Further education was accomplished at Delaware Technical Community College. And again he successfully retired after another 20 years counsel- ing in Social Work in Delaware. Bob’s favorite color is blue denim, enjoys ice cream and cookies, and a delicious meal at the Cracker Barrel. He also enjoys the TV program Legal Weapon and the three-day vacations especially to Atlantic City. He has fond memories of his boyhood month long summer vacations with his Grandparents to Atlantic City. A favorite movie is Singing in the Rain with Gene Kelly, also a na- tive of Pittsburgh. (As the story goes, Mr. Kelly and Mr. Artz Sr. were classmates playing school soccer. A hard kick was played and Gene Kelly fell after being hit in the face by Bob’s father). Bob is a wood carver and enjoys his time at FSC and MSC wood carving class. He is exceptionally talented with pencil drawings, especially dogs. Another favorite is cooking from which he received this specialty from his grandmother who in her day was a restaurateur. Bob’s daily responsibility was to peel 50 pound of potatoes before going to school in the morning. Bob is also a member of Sussex Central Seventh Day Adventist Church in Georgetown, DE NOW FOR THE REST OF THE STORY: Bob and Evie met while volunteering with the Meals on Wheels Program. Bob asked for Evie to help with the deliveries when he was driving. It was like a magnet. They were drawn to each other and soon married. The ceremony took place November 9, 2014, at the Villas at Milford Crossing Community Room. Evie’s daughter was Maid of Honor, her one son walked her down the isle, another son provided the music with song, and another son was the photographer. The family took to Bob immediately, love him, and the grandchildren call him Papa Bob. Both Bob and Evie enjoy the activities, meals, and friends at FSC. It is with pleasure to pass their story on to you, members of FSC. And what a wonderful story it is. Wish them both a Happy Birthday this month. <link href='https://www.blogger.com/dyn -41fc Join in the fun at Buddy’s Hideaway Friday Night April 13th and April 27th Need more information just talk to Sonny or Cathy.
