This property is part of a small square close to the local primary school and is no more than a few minutes’ walk from local shops and amenities, including the well-known Rhyddings Hotel. You have a choice of good shopping in easy walking distance, either in the busy Brynymor Road and St Helens Road area, where you can find a mixture of restaurants, take-aways, pubs and convenience stores, or in Uplands which offers you Tesco and Sainsbury's and another mix of places to eat and drink. The sea front of Swansea Bay is a short walk from the house. There is a bus stop in nearby Marlborough Road for the no. 9 service to Uplands and the city centre. Distance from Swansea University Car - 1.1 miles, a drive of a few minutes east along Trafalgar place to the junction with Brynmill avenue. Turn right at the end on to Brynmill avenue and follow the road down to the bottom where you will reach Bryn road. Turn right and follow this road down to the roundabout with Brynmill Lane. Take the second exit on to Brynmill lane and then turn right at the traffic lights on to the Mumbles Road. Walk - 0.6 miles. The university is a 10 minute walk away. Go west to the bottom of the road and then turn right up Langland terrace. Follow the road until you reach the corner shop at the junction with Brynmill lane. Take the pedestrian crossing into Singleton Park and you can see the University a few hundred yards away. Take the path across Singleton Park to the Singleton Abbey entrance to the University. Distance from University of Wales, Trinity St David’s, Swansea Car - 1.7 miles, or 7 minutes. east along Trafalgar place to the junction with Brynmill avenue. Turn right at the end on to Brynmill avenue and follow the road down to the bottom where you will reach Bryn road. Take a left here along Bryn road and then along King Edward road for half a mile until you reach the junction with Brynymor road and the Brynymor shops. Here you should turn right and continue till you reach the traffic lights with St Helens road by the Westbourne hotel. Turn left here towards the city. Stay on this road for 0.4 miles after which you need to turn left towards Mansel street. Turn right when you hit the junction 100 yards up the road and turn on to Mansel street proper. After another 100 yards you will reach the junction with Mount Pleasant (opposite the police station and the Dynevor campus building). Turn left here and the Mount Pleasant campus is 200 yards up on the right hand side. Walk - 1.7 miles or a walk of just over half an hour. Go east along the road and turn left up Brynmill avenue and then right on to Marlborough road. Follow Marlborough road for 0.1 miles until you reach Bernard street. Turn left up Bernard street and walk until you reach the junction with Glanbrydan avenue. Take a right here and follow the road up to Uplands. When you reach the shops here, you can take a right on to the main road (Uplands crescent). The road from here to the University is a straight walk along Walter road until you reach the Mount Pleasant junction opposite the police station. Turn left here to reach the campus which is 200 yards up the hill on the right hand side. .

    CONFERENCE VENUE Swansea University Wallace Building The Wallace Building, Swansea University The conference venue for the UKIRSC 2019 is the Wallace Building on Singleton Campus, Swansea University, SA2 8PP. The Wallace Building is home to the Bioscience and Geography departments and is named after the “father of biogeography”, Alfred Russel Wallace, Welsh evolutionary biologist best known for having independently conceived the theory of evolution through natural selection, alongside Charles Darwin. Swansea University is situated in Singleton Park, a mature parkland and botanical gardens overlooking Swansea Bay beach. The Wallace Building is in the South West corner of Singleton Campus. It is approximately 15 minutes’ walk from the Uplands or Brynmill areas, 40 minutes’ walk from Swansea City Centre and 3 minutes from the beach (see map on page 5). 1 Registration will be held in the entrance foyer of the Wallace building. From there you can head directly upstairs to the Science Central for refreshments. Scientific posters will be displayed here. All guest lectures and student talks will take place in the Wallace Lecture Theatre, directly ahead on entering the Wallace Building and located down a short flight of stairs. Tea and coffee will be provided on arrival and during breaks, but please bring your own re-usable cup. Lunch is not provided. There are plenty of options for lunch on campus and in the Uplands and Brynmill area just short walk away. The Wallace Building Foyer.
