CheetahsRugby www.facebook.com/CheetahsRugby @CheetahsRugby www.fscheetahs.co.za Crunch time is well and truly upon us with two rounds to play in the Guinness PRO14 and so much is yet to be decided, which is just how we like it as the potential line-ups for the Final Series keep switching up. There are some absolute blockbusters this weekend with Connacht hosting Cardi Blues in Galway in a must-win game for both teams. Ulster go back to Scotland for the second week in a row, this time to face Edinburgh, as the Conference B rivals duel for a knock-out spot, Munster visit high-flying Benetton and both conference leaders – Leinster and Glasgow Warriors – face o in Dublin. Who would have predicted back in the summer that some of these fixtures would have so much riding on them? Looking to the game at the Sportsground is the one that really gets the juices flowing. Connacht, champions of 2016, can return to the knock-out stages of the Guinness PRO14 and the European Champions Cup with a win over Blues. But for the visitors, a season which started so slowly can kick into high gear with a win on the Atlantic coast. Four points separate the teams and an away win means both teams would have to pick a ‘W’ on derby day in Round 21. Interesting, too, that a Cardi Blues victory would likely bring Ospreys right back into the mix for the Guinness PRO14 Final Series with both teams then facing each other on Judgement Day! That’s one side of the story in Conference A where we also have Glasgow Warriors and Munster scrapping for a home Semi-Final and both have tricky away trips to contend with against Leinster and Benetton, respectively. Over in Conference B, Edinburgh remain in must-win territory ahead of their final day clash with derby rivals Glasgow and they welcome an Ulster team who are trying to ward o Benetton in order to claim a home quarter-final. Oh, and Scarlets? Maximum points from the final two games gives them a chance of reaching the knock-out stages as well, so you just can’t take your eyes o the fixture list this weekend. Incredibly, the consolation prize on oer for some of these teams will be the opportunity to battle it out in the Play-O for our final Champions Cup spot, so the intensity will not let up over the next two rounds. As I mentioned the race for the Final Series is reaching fever pitch and with Leinster already qualified with a home Semi-Final it’s going to take a serious eort to wrestle the trophy away from them – but the Guinness PRO14 is becoming more unpredictable each season so this year’s winners could yet come from Scotland, Italy or Wales. Of course, the Guinness PRO14 Final is coming up into view at Celtic Park on May 25 and without even makingKAARTJIES a tackle AANLYNyou can BESKIKBAARguarantee your - www.fscheetahs.co.za place by going direct to bit.ly/glasgow2019 to get your tickets. • Rabodirect PRO12 : PREVIEW 2012/13
RaboDirect PRO12 : PREVIEW 2012/13 Round 18: 22ND & 23RD March 2013 ROUND 18 PREVIEWS With just five rounds left to decide which teams will contest the Play-Offs, there is a new leader of the RaboDirect PRO12 with Glasgow Warriors taking over the mantle from Ulster, whilst for the fourth round in succession, Ospreys swapped places with Scarlets in the Play-Off Zone. Three of those teams are in action on Friday night; Ulster traveling to Edinburgh, Ospreys hosting Welsh rivals Newport Gwent Dragons, and Scarlets in Italy to face Zebre. Edinburgh can do their Scottish neighbours, Warriors, a favour if they can defeat Ulster however their record against the Ulstermen is not great. Meanwhile Ospreys and Scarlets must both be looking to come away with maximum points from opponents who are sitting at the wrong end of the table in their bids to reach the Play-Offs. The leaders, Glasgow Warriors, are not in action until Saturday, and are the only one of the potential Play-Off teams to face another side from the top half of the table when the visit Leinster at the RDS. Munster will also be looking for maximum points in the All-Irish clash against Connacht if they are to make a final push for the knockout stages. With just two points separating the top three teams in the table, whilst it is even closer for the final Play Off spot, there is definitely all to play for still as the RaboDirect PRO12 enters its closing stages. ROUND 18 FIXTURES Friday 22 March EDINBURGH RUGBY v ULSTER At Murrayfield, 7.30pm.

With Europe’s pool stages complete we are immensely proud to see five of our clubs in the draw for the Champions Cup Quarter-Finals and to have Connacht in the Challenge Cup knock-outs, too. It is the first time since 2012 that we have had so many teams in the knock-out stages of the Champions Cup and that is reflective of not only the talent on the pitch but the coaching teams and the structures of the clubs o it.

  • Rabodirect PRO12 PREVIEW 2013/14 ROUND 15 PREVIEWS ROUND 15 FIXTURES
RaboDirect PRO12 PREVIEW 2013/14 Round 15: 20th – 23rd February 2014 ROUND 15 PREVIEWS With the international weekend kicking off on Friday night, the majority of the RaboDirect PRO12 games take place on Sunday, however Cardiff Blues open round 15 with their game against current champions, Leinster at the Arms Park on Thursday evening and if past form is any guide Cardiff will have their work cut out to claim victory in this match. The sole game on Saturday is also in Wales with Edinburgh Rugby visiting Llanelli to play Scarlets, who missed out last round due to the weather in Belfast. The Scots do not travel well, so Scarlets must be hoping to put their own home record back on track in this fixture. The remaining four games take place on Sunday, with a TV double header in Italy, Benetton Treviso hosting Ulster and Zebre facing another Irish province, Connacht. Connacht’s victory over Edinburgh last time out saw them swap places with Zebre at the foot of the table, which could be reversed if Zebre claim this tie. Ulster on the other hand will be hoping they can make up some ground on the teams above them in the Play-Off zone. At the same time the remaining two Welsh regions will be in action in the principality. Newport Gwent Dragons opponents’ Glasgow Warriors, currently sit in 4th place in the table courtesy of one more win than Ulster, and still have two games in hand over the three teams above them. The outstanding game must be the pick of the weekend, leaders Munster travelling to face 3rd placed Ospreys, who claimed a record victory over Treviso in their last game at the Liberty Stadium.
