MIAA Endowment Celebrity Golf Tournament Plymouth Country Club Plymouth, MA August 10, 2015 MIAA Endowment Celebrity Golf Tournament Welcome! The MIAA Endowment Fund was established in 2013. The goal of this fund is to preserve and create educational opportunities for student-athletes statewide. The Endowment fund helps the MIAA maintain quality services under the umbrella of the five education based athletic “Pillars”: Coaches Education, Com- munity Service, Leadership, Sportsmanship and Wellness. Through your participation, donation or sponsorship to this event the MIAA is able to raise funds that will aid in supporting full participation by student-athletes in programs sponsored by the MIAA. Programs such as: New England Student Leadership Conference, Girls and Women in Sport Day, Sportsmanship Summit, The Camp Edwards Captains Challenge, Citizenship Day, Wellness Summit, as well as, various leadership and wellness workshops throughout the year. We are excited to have our tournament at the Plymouth Country Club. It is our hope that you have the best day of golf ever. Relax, have fun and enjoy! The team will then select the best location from which to play and the entire team will play from that position. Continue this process until the ball is holed. The ball may be cleaned and placed within one club-length not nearer the hole. The ball must remain in like conditions, i.e. fairway, bunker, rough, fringe, hazard etc. On the putting surface the ball must be placed within a scorecard width from its original location. Men will play from the WHITE tee markers, and Women will play from the RED tee markers. Each player’s drive must be used at least twice. In the event a team is comprised of three players, proceed as follows: Hole #1: Player "A" will hit two shots from each location the entire hole. Hole #2: Player "B" will hit two shots from each location the entire hole. Hole #3: Player "C" will hit two shots from each location the entire hole.     FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Erik Arneson, FOX Sports Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016 [email protected] VERSATILE FOX SPORTS BROADCASTER KENNY ALBERT CONTINUES TO PAIR WITH BIGGEST NAMES IN SPORTS Boothmates like Namath, Ewing, Palmer, Leonard ‘Enhance Broadcasts … Make My Job a Lot More Fun’ Teams with Former Cowboy and Longtime Broadcast Partner Daryl ‘Moose’ Johnston and Sideline Reporter Laura Okmin for FOX NFL in 2016 With an ever-growing roster of nearly 250 teammates (complete list below) that includes iconic names like Joe Namath, Patrick Ewing, Jim Palmer, Jeremy Roenick and “Sugar Ray” Leonard, versatile FOX Sports play-by-play announcer Kenny Albert -- the only announcer currently doing play-by-play for all four major U.S. sports (NFL, MLB, NBA and NHL) -- certainly knows the importance of preparation and chemistry. “The most important aspects of my job are definitely research and preparation,” said Albert, a second-generation broadcaster whose long-running career behind the sports microphone started in high school, and as an undergraduate at New York University in the late 1980s, he called NYU basketball games. “When the NFL season begins, it's similar to what coaches go through. If I'm not sleeping, eating or spending time with my family, I'm preparing for that Sunday's game. “And when I first work with a particular analyst, researching their career is definitely a big part of it,” Albert added. “With (Daryl Johnston) ‘Moose,’ for example, there are various anecdotes from his years with the Dallas Cowboys that pertain to our games. When I work local Knicks telecasts with Walt ‘Clyde’ Frazier on MSG, a percentage of our viewers were avid fans of Clyde during the Knicks’ championship runs in 1970 and 1973, so we weave some of those stories into the broadcasts.” As the 2016 NFL season gets underway, Albert once again teams with longtime broadcast partner Johnston, with whom he has paired for 10 seasons, sideline reporter Laura Okmin and producer Barry Landis.

Broadly speaking, the texts published on idrottsforum.org discusses the changes in sports in our time; indeed, the most important task of the social sciences is to map and understand contemporary changes based on knowledge of the past and theories of change and devel- opment. We draw attention, often in sweeping terms, to the general tendencies of change within modern sports – commercialization, professionalization, globalization, medializa- tion. These tendencies are indisputable and unchallenged, even if opinions differ as to their advantages and disadvantages for the actual performance and intrinsic values of sports. What do these tendencies entail? What are the everyday consequences? These kinds of questions are also dealt with on the forum – our original articles as well as the large num- ber of reviews of works published elsewhere indicate the changes as they appear in the everyday sporting reality. But to what extent is sports journalism contributing to a balanced assessment of the changes within sports? And what part can sports sociology play in this? Crisis! That’s Dave Zirin’s diagnosis of the situation within, primarily, American sports and American sports journalism.
